  • Patent number: 7410025
Abstract: A vehicle, such as an under-bone type motorcycle, can guide a sufficient amount of running wind to a core section of a radiator (heat exchanger). The vehicle includes a head pipe, a main frame connected to the head pipe to extend downward and rearward, an engine disposed below the main frame, a leg shield covering a front side of a leg of a driver and having an opening in a forward area thereof, a radiator disposed within the opening of the leg shield which includes a core section through which running wind passes thus cooling the engine, and a wind guiding wall attached to the leg shield to guide the running wind to the radiator. The wind guiding wall includes a forward section that protrudes forward from a front end surface of the opening of the leg shield and a rear section that has a rear end positioned adjacent to a lateral side end of the core section of the radiator.

  • Patent number: 7387180
Abstract: A vehicle includes a leg shield arranged to cover the front sides of the legs of a driver riding the vehicle and a heat exchanger arranged on the front surface side of the leg shield. The leg shield includes a wind guide space formed by a wall member of the leg shield, a first opening formed in a portion of the wall member of the leg shield located at least behind the heat exchanger for guiding air passing through the heat exchanger to the wind guide space and a second opening formed in another portion of the wall member of the leg shield separated from the first opening by a predetermined distance for discharging the air passing through the heat exchanger, guided to the first opening from the wind guide space.

  • Patent number: 7380872
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle includes wheels. A frame supports the wheels. First and second covers cover the wheels or the frame. The first cover includes first, second and third openings. The openings are preferably slots. The respective openings are arranged to form a triangle. The second cover includes first, second and third projections corresponding to the first, second and third openings of the first cover, respectively. The first, second and third projections are inserted into the associated first, second and third openings to couple the second cover with the first cover.

  • Patent number: 7374007
Abstract: A wheeled vehicle includes front and rear wheels. A frame supports the front and rear wheels. A leg shield shields legs of a rider. A portion of the frame extends in front of the leg shield. The leg shield has a forward end and a rear end. The rear end is positioned generally at a height of the forward end. The leg shield has first and second portions and at least one third portion. The first portion generally extends upward and rearward from the forward end. The second portion generally extends downward and rearward from the forward end. The third portion generally extends upward from the second portion. The third portion defines a pocket at least together with the first or second portion. The third portion is positioned generally farther forward than the rear end or positioned adjacent to the rear end in the rear of the rear end.

  • Patent number: 7113602
Abstract: An acoustic apparatus comprises an attenuator for attenuating a first audio signal to produce a second audio signal, a low pass filter for reducing high frequency components of the second audio signal to produce a third audio signal, a differential amplifier operative to produce a fourth audio signal corresponding to a difference between the first and third audio signals, and a speaker supplied with the fourth audio signal obtained from the differential amplifier, wherein a cutoff frequency of the low pass filter is selected to be not lower than 2 kHz and not higher than 6 kHz and attenuation of the first audio signal in the attenuator is so selected that a listener is able to recognize a virtual sound source position in front of and at a level higher than an actual position of the speaker.

Abstract: A wheeled vehicle includes a seat. A frame supports at least the seat. The frame includes at least a first horizontal section extending substantially horizontally in front of the seat. At least first, second and third covers overlay the frame. The first horizontal section includes a reference position. The first and second covers abut against each other to form a flush surface and overlap with each other to cover the reference position. The first and second covers are attached together to the first horizontal section at the reference position. The third cover is attached to the first cover or the frame at a second location that is spaced apart from the reference position and is determined with less precision than the reference position.
