  • Patent number: 6685654
Abstract: This health indicator measuring device includes an arithmetical operation means for computing data of a lean body per body height or a data of a body fat per body height on the basis of the respective data of body weight, body fat and body height. The health indicator measuring device has the capability of measuring a qualitative aspect or a quantitative aspect of muscle of a person to be measured and outputting indicators of a health year equivalent and an advice data on practical fitness for health related to the function of the body measured.

  • Publication number: 20020129978
Abstract: A winged scale for measurement of body weight and determination of body fat content includes a scale structure, two wings movably attached to the scale structure by a positioning mechanism, a weighing device, an impedance measuring device, an input device, a data processing device, and a data output device. The two wings comprise right and left wings respectively having right and left electrodes to electrically contact a user's barefoot soles, wherein the right and left electrodes are spread apart as the wings move to an open position. The impedance measuring device measures an electrical impedance of the user through the soles contacting the electrodes. The input device permits entry of the user's personal physical data. The data processing device determines the user's body fat content, based on measured impedance, measured weight, and entered personal data. The data output device may output visually and/or audibly the measured and determined data.

  • Patent number: 6369337
Abstract: Disclosed is a separable fat scale including a body weight measuring part for detecting a body weight of a person under test who mounts a weighing platform; electrode parts having thereon at least a pair of electrodes to electrically contact soles of feet of the person under test and formed separately from the weighing platform; an impedance measuring part for measuring impedance of the person under test through his/her soles contacting the electrodes; an input part for inputting personal data including information about physical characteristics of the person under test such as sexuality, age and body height; an arithmetic part for calculating a proportion of body fat in the body of the person under test and/or weight of the body fat under impedance signals obtained from the impedance measuring part, load signals obtained from the body weight measuring part and the personal data input; and a data output part for outputting the calculated proportion of body fat in the body and/or weight of the body fat, wherei
