    Abstract: Beveled, chamfered portions are formed at one or both of front and rear ends of each of projected portions including a box-like electrical contact portion and wire-clamping portions, or all of edges of a terminal. A slanting wall, slanting in a direction of withdrawal of the waterproof rubber plug, is provided at a rear side of the projected portion. Annular protective portions are provided adjacent to front and rear ends of the conductor-clamping portion, respectively, the annular protective portions being larger in outer diameter than raised front and rear ends of the conductor-clamping portion after compressive clamping of the conductor-clamping portion. A generally semi-annular projection for preventing an inverted insertion of the terminal is provided at a bottom plate portion of the terminal, and an arch-like curved portion, extending in a direction of the width of the terminal, is formed at an apex portion of the projection.

    Abstract: A rubber waterproof plug (25) is fitted to an outer circumference of a wire (27) extending from a terminal (29) and then inserted into a terminal accommodation chamber (31) formed in a connector housing (20) together with the terminal from a rear end of the connector housing, in order to seal a gap between the wire (27) and an inner wall (31a) of the terminal accommodation chamber (31). The waterproof plug is formed with: a clamp connection portion (33) formed at a front end portion of the waterproof plug and clamped with a front end of the wire by the terminal; and an airtight portion (47) of annular gill-shaped projections (49) formed at a rear end portion of the waterproof plug, for airtightly closing an opening (51) of the terminal accommodation chamber.

    Abstract: In a connector system comprising a connector housing having a terminal chamber, a terminal member to be inserted into the terminal chamber, and a terminal retainer to be coupled to a rear portion of the connector housing in two stages, namely, in a first-step engagement and a second-step engagement, the terminal retainer comprising flexible pins extending toward the front side in the terminal chamber, the flexible retainer comprising an engaging end portion capable of being restored to an advance path of the terminal member, and the terminal chamber provided with a stopper for detecting unsatisfactory insertion of the terminal member, the stopper located on the front side of the flexible engaging end of the terminal retainer in the first-step engagement, the engaging end portion, when not restored due to unsatisfactory insertion of the terminal member, making abutting engagement with the stopper when the terminal retainer is tried to be moved to the second-step engagement.

    Abstract: In a screw-fastened electrical connector, a plurality of cylindrical nuts are rotatably provided in a connector housing, a plurality of bolts are securely fixed to a mating connector housing, rotatory gears are secured to the cylindrical nuts and engaged with rotation direction changing gears secured to rotatory shafts at one end of each thereof, other rotation direction changing gears are secured to the shafts at the other ends thereof and engaged with driving gears secured to driving shafts, and the driving shafts are rotated in conjunction with a screw engaging portion. The cylindrical nuts are simultaneously rotated to be engaged with the bolts so that the housings are uniformly and smoothly fastened to each other.
