  • Publication number: 20240047692
Abstract: One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same capable of maintaining high insulation between electrodes and more effectively suppressing internal short circuit. The secondary battery has a positive electrode and a negative electrode disposed to face the positive electrode. Each of the positive electrode and the negative electrode comprises a current collector and an active material layer formed on at least one surface of the current collector, and at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode further comprises an insulating layer formed on a surface of the active material layer. The insulating layer is a porous insulating layer containing a plurality of nonconductive particles, and when the average particle diameter of the particles is represented by ?m, a porosity index represented by an average particle diameter of the particles×porosity is 0.4 or less.

Abstract: The present invention provides a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same capable of maintaining high insulation between electrodes and more effectively suppressing internal short circuit. The secondary battery has a positive electrode, a negative electrode disposed to face the positive electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Each of the positive electrode and the negative electrode comprises a current collector and an active material layer formed on at least one surface of the current collector, and at least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode further comprises an insulating layer formed on the surface of the active material layer. The separator has a thermal shrinkage rate of less than 5% at 200° C. and a Gurley value of 10 seconds/100 ml or less.
