  • Patent number: 6957088
Abstract: A cellular phone includes an X-axis magnetic sensor for outputting a first value corresponding to a component of an external magnetic field along the direction of a transverse axis of the main body, and a Y-axis magnetic sensor for outputting a second value corresponding to a component of the external magnetic field along the direction of a longitudinal axis of the main body. The cellular phone includes a ROM which stores a conversion table defining the relation between the first and second values and values of azimuth and inclination angle of the longitudinal axis of the main body. The cellular phone determines the azimuth and inclination angle on the basis of the first and second values actually output from the X-axis and Y-axis magnetic sensors and with reference to the conversion table.

  • Patent number: 6937141
Abstract: Sensor data of respective controlled objects of a vehicle are collected by calling a vehicle remote-control system provided to the vehicle via a mobile phone, and then these data are displayed on an LCD display panel 11c of the mobile phone. In this state, the controlled object to be remotely controlled is selected by operating a cursor (30) and an ON/OFF setting button (31), and then its ON or OFF state is set. At this time, the remote-control command data are transmitted to the vehicle remote-control system from the mobile phone to set the corresponding controlled object. The condition is transmitted once again to the mobile phone as the sensor data, and is displayed on the LCD display panel (11c).

  • Patent number: 6879826
Abstract: The communication device includes a communication microcomputer 203 and an information-processing microcomputer 207. The communication microcomputer 203 has a line quality measuring section 301, a battery level measuring section 302, a data table 304, and a data transmission/reception decision section 303. The information-processing microcomputer 207 has a data transmission/reception prediction section 307 and a communication processing section 305. The electric field level, degradation in line quality, and the remaining amount of a battery are periodically monitored during data communication such as electronic mail reception. The data transmission/reception decision section 303 implements a decision process based on various predetermined information sets acquired through the monitoring. When deciding that the line is disconnected during communication, the data transmission/reception decision section 303 interrupts the mail reception and performs a logging-out with the server, thus disconnecting the line.

  • Patent number: 6868337
Abstract: A portable communication device comprises a GPS module for determining the present position, an electronic compass module for detecting an azimuth, a display, and a wireless communicator. Herein, the position information representing the destination and present position is transmitted towards the navigation server, which in turn provides the map information including the destination and present position, based on which corresponding icon symbols are indicated in the map displayed on the screen. In addition, the azimuth is also indicated by an angle departing from a north direction of the map information. Specifically, an azimuthal arrow symbol is displayed in proximity to the icon symbol representing the present position in the map, or the icon symbol is inclined by the aforementioned angle. Thus, it is possible to create images for navigation that are appropriately displayed on the screen and are recognizable in viewing without using expensive graphic processing.

  • Publication number: 20050043015
Abstract: An electronic communication device is provided, which is capable of improving a way of using email applications and of enhancing efficiency of using memory. In a sub-menu of “email setting”, items of “email rule” and “folder setting” are provided. By using the “email rule”, search conditions that enable a name of a sender of received email or a name of an item to be specified are registered and actions to be taken when the conditions are met are designated. By using “folder setting”, “deleting schedule” is set. With timing of making an inquiry about arrival of email and/or received email at a center or renewing preset time for deleting, received email or email being already stored can be automatically deleted, moved to a folder or transferred.

  • Patent number: 6856192
Abstract: A filter coil incorporates coils, each having the same inductance, which differ from each other in winding directions and are used for low-pass filters for eliminating carrier frequency components in BTL outputs of a class-D amplifier, which performs pulse-width modulation and amplification on input signals. A pair of coils can be arranged to adjoin together along axial directions thereof in a single package, or plural pairs of coils can be arranged to adjoin together in a single package with intervention of a magnetic shield therebetween. Alternatively, a pair of coils are wound about a single core along its axial direction with intervention of a magnetic shield therebetween. Thus, it is possible to effectively suppress inductive coupling between adjacent coils, and it is possible to realize reduction of installed areas of coils and reduction of the cost in manufacture of filter coils as well as prevention of unwanted radiation.

  • Patent number: 6788026
Abstract: A battery charger is used for charging a battery incorporated in a portable audio device such as a portable telephone, and it comprises a connector and a circuit block for performing charging operation with the battery of the portable audio device via the connector. The circuit block contains a digital power amplifier that ensures digitization of audio signals transmitted thereto from the portable audio device via the connector. The battery charger can be connected with speakers, which produce sounds based on digital audio signals amplified by the digital power amplifier. Since the digital power amplifier has a good efficiency in power consumption and produces a very small amount of heat during operation, the battery charger can be considerably downsized, and it can reliably ensure a high quality reproduction of audio signals during charging operation for the battery of the portable audio device in progress.

  • Patent number: 6752170
Abstract: There is disclosed a pressure regulating valve which effectively reduces a noise of a fuel pressure regulating valve without relation to a flow amount of a fuel. In this valve, a flow collision preventing member (35) is fitted to an upper end opening portion of a bush (26), and an upper portion of the flow collision preventing member (35) is protruded to a side of a valve body (33) rather than a valve seat (28) (an upper end surface of the bush (26)). A plurality of flow passages (36) for flowing the fuel in an axial direction thereof (in a downward direction) along an inner peripheral surface of the bush (26) are formed in an outer peripheral portion of the flow collision preventing member (35) with a uniform interval. A runoff recess portion (37) running off a protruding portion of the flow collision preventing member (35) is formed in the valve body (33) positioned immediately above the valve seat (28).

  • Publication number: 20030122945
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus comprises an image pickup device (e.g., a lens, a CCD) for picking up an image of an object, a shutter button having a magnetic member thereunder, an XY-axes geomagnetic sensor, a decoder for decoding an output of the XY-axes geomagnetic sensor to produce a bearing angle and an inclined angle based on a horizontal plane, a viewfinder display for displaying the bearing angle and inclined angle on the screen of a viewfinder. When the user presses the shutter button, the magnetic member approaches the geomagnetic sensor, so that a relatively large magnetic field (1 Oe) is applied to the geomagnetic sensor, and the image pickup device is controlled to perform an image pickup operation. It is possible to further incorporate a memory (e.g., ROM) for storing relationships between the geomagnetism, bearing angle, and inclined angle with respect to a prescribed terrestrial location.

  • Publication number: 20020103030
Abstract: A game playing system comprises a game device such as a pachinko machine, a management server, and at least one shop server, all of which are interconnected together via a network. When the player operates the game device to play a prescribed game (e.g., pachinko game), its score is communicated to the management server. Hence, the management server communicates to the game device a URL specifying the shop server that provides commodities or services as a prize for a consideration of the score of the prescribed game. The player selects a desired commodity or service as the prize, so that the shop server automatically sends it to the player without charging its cost to the player. The game device can be installed at home or at a prescribed game hall (e.g., pachinko hall).
