  • Publication number: 20020181186
Abstract: A polarizable electrode for use in electrical double layer capacitors, which includes carbon fine-powder, a conductive auxiliary agent, and a binder. The tensile strength of the polarizable electrode is not less than 0.13 MPa. The long-term performance degradation and self-discharge caused energy losses of the electrical double layer capacitors can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20020112330
Abstract: There is provided a manufacturing method of a capacitor including: providing the capacitor having positive and negative polarizable electrodes which generates an electric double layer; a separator with which the polarizable electrodes are electrically insulated therebetween; and collecting electrodes that are made of metal and lead out charges from the polarizable electrodes, and joining a bundle of lead portions of the collecting electrodes to an electrode terminal by ultrasonic welding. A gross area of protruding portions in an ultrasonic-welding surface is made to be within a range of 5 to 50% of a contact area of the ultrasonic-welding surface and lead sections of collecting electrodes. The manufacturing method can certainly perform junction with electrode terminals without increasing any junction resistance only by ultrasonic welding even if the bundle of lead portions of collecting electrodes is thick, or the number of sheets of collecting electrodes is large.

  • Publication number: 20010051840
Abstract: A mounting apparatus includes: a heater head for bonding a liquid crystal display and a flexible printed circuit board by thermocompression; a cylinder as a heater head driving means for driving heater head to compress the liquid crystal display and flexible printed circuit board by a prescribed load; and a control mechanism as a stretch amount controlling means for adjusting a load change per unit of time after the heater head starts compressing the flexible printed circuit board by the cylinder as well as a time at which a required load is attained to control the stretch amount of the flexible printed circuit board by thermocompression. Preferably, the mounting apparatus is provided with a mechanism which performs measurement after preliminary bonding and which performs regular bonding while controlling based on the obtained information.

  • Patent number: 5207507
Abstract: A method for continuous thermogravimetric analysis of coal, or other materials rich in carbon, for volatile matter and ash content, including the steps of exposing a coal sample to an atmosphere consisting essentially of about 1 to 5% by volume of oxygen and the remainder being nitrogen and inevitable impurities at a first specified temperature for a first given time, weighing the coal sample to determine a first weight loss during the first given time, the first weight loss corresponding to the amount of volatile matter in the coal sample, burning the coal sample under an oxygen atmosphere having a higher than normal oxygen concentration for a second given time at a temperature sufficient to burn carbon containing materials in the coal sample, and weighing the coal sample to determine a second weight loss during the first given time and the second given time, the second weight loss corresponding to the amount of volatile matter and the amount of ash content in the coal sample.
