  • Patent number: 4811257
Abstract: An electronic calculator having a first input mode for inputting one or more algebraic equations, a display for displaying the variable terms of the input equations, and an indicator for selectively indicating any one of the variables being displayed. A second input mode is provided for inputting numeric data in a direct one-to-one relationship with the displayed variables, the input numeric data being simultaneously displayed with their corresponding variables. A calculator operation is performed by the device upon instruction by an operator whereby the input numeric data is substituted for the respective input variables for a selected equation. The display will show the result of the calculation in a position of the display corresponding to the position where an output variable term is displayed. Accordingly, a numerical calculation may be performed by selecting a stored equation and directly inputting numeric data in a one-to-one correspondence with variables in the displayed selected equation.

  • Patent number: 4695983
Abstract: A compact-size computer such as a functional calculator or a pocket computer selects either the sequential operation mode or formula memory mode according to the purpose of arithmetic operations and promotes faster and easier key operations. Specifically, it is substantially a calculator capable of executing formula calculations with different operational sequences wherein it comprises means for selecting and designating either the sequential operation mode that sequentially executes formula calculations according to individual key operations, or formula memory operation mode that executes operations after entry of the sequential operation mode.

  • Patent number: 4654822
Abstract: An electronic calculator includes a mode selection key and a memo mode selection key. The mode selection key is actuated to select a memo mode for inputting and printing out memo data and a calculation mode for operating arithmetic calculation. The memo mode selection key is actuated to absolutely select the memo mode during the calculation mode. Once the memo mode selection key is actuated and a print key is actuated to print out the memo data, the calculation mode is reselected, automatically, so that the calculator can continue to calculate.

  • Patent number: 4511138
Abstract: A game calculating apparatus includes a key unit consisting of a plurality of keys, a plurality of the display positions, and a complete game function processor operatively coupled to a random access memory and read only memory. A first symbol is variably displayed in each of said display positions either randomly or at specific cycle intervals during the game mode. To stop the movement of each said desired symbol a selected specific key must be actuated. The processor then determines the degree of exact matching of the signal representing the stopped first symbols and another signal representing a second set of symbols previously stored in the memory.
