    Abstract: An apparatus for displaying dictionary information in a dictionary used in a natural language process, the dictionary having a plurality of entry words, small categories corresponding to each entry word and the dictionary information belonging to each small category, each small category being a syntactic category of a corresponding entry word. The apparatus includes a retrieval unit for retrieving the entry word specified by a user in the dictionary and reading out the dictionary information belonging to each small category corresponding to the retrieved entry word from the dictionary, a grouping unit for grouping the small categories corresponding to the retrieved entry word into medium categories, each medium category having one or a plurality of small categories, and a display unit for displaying the dictionary information in the small categories grouped in each medium category.

    Abstract: A language analyzer includes a dictionary having stored therein dictionary data including morpheme data for words, compound words and phrases, and a parsing analyzer for conducting morphological analysis for an inputted sentence by referring to the dictionary. The dictionary contain data for the coupling degree indicating the coupling degree between each of words constituting the compound words or phrases and the parsing analyzer refers to the dictionary for the respective words contained in said inputted sentence and, when a plurality of dictionary data are retrieved for one word in combination with other words, selects the combination of words of a higher coupling degree by referring to the data for said coupling degree.

    Abstract: An apparatus for editing a dictionary for use in translation includes an object language dictionary storing words in an object language and attribute information on the words. An analyzer analyzes a desired equivalent by referring to the words in the object language and attribute information on the words stored in the object language dictionary and determines attribute information on the desired equivalent. A register part registers the desired equivalent and the attribute information on the desired equivalent supplied from the analyzer in a translation dictionary. A method for editing a dictionary for use in translation is also provided.
