  • Patent number: 6286793
Abstract: In a pop-up structure of the invention, an elevatable member is rotatably disposed on upper portions of a pair of front and rear poles, which is also rotatably provided on a base member. Shielding plates extend between the front and rear poles on both sides thereof. In case the elevatable member is elevated by rotating both poles, even if an elevating height of the elevatable member is high, at least a part of the space formed between the front and rear poles is covered by the shielding plates at the both sides. Therefore, the appearance at the popped-up state of the pop-up structure is improved, and there is no risk of catching foreign materials by the poles or the like when it is collapsed.

  • Patent number: 5553317
Abstract: In a radio telephone apparatus of the TDMA/TDD system, signal transmission and reception are conducted by use of carriers having an identical frequency. This leads to a problem that the transmission intermediate frequency carrier and the transmission RF carrier enter the receiver section in an identical housing, thereby causing a cochanncl interference. To overcome this difficulty, there is disposed a frequency division modulator including a frequency divider for dividing by four a local signal having a frequency which is four times that of the intermediate frequency to obtain a carrier having a frequency shifted from that of the local signal by 90.degree.. Signal to be modulated is subjected to an orthogonal modulation according to the carrier wave to produce an intermediate frequency carrier. The operation of the modulator is stopped in a signal reception state to prevent the intermediate frequency carrier undergone the orthogonal modulation from being produced.

  • Patent number: 5540298
Abstract: An integrated controller for a vehicle comprises a contact preventive device for detecting a distance between a vehicle and an obstacle and a relative speed, and deciding whether the vehicle may come in contact with the obstacle based on the results of detection so as to perform automatic braking or automatic steering, and a characteristic changing device for causing the suspension or steering characteristic of the vehicle to be changed. The control part of the characteristic changing device changes the suspension or steering characteristic based on information from the control part of the contact preventive device when operating the contact preventive device. In case the characteristic changing device is an active suspension device, the control part changes the suspension characteristic so as to increase a control gain when performing automatic braking and to inhibit the vehicle from being rolled when performing automatic steering.

  • Patent number: 5483133
Abstract: A control system for opening or closing an opening-closing member when a foreign material is caught by the opening-closing member. The event that the opening-closing member catches the foreign material is decided on the basis of a driving state of a motor for driving the opening-closing member such as a power window. For example, the event that the event of catching the foreign material is decided when a driving acceleration or a driving velocity is less than a predetermined threshold X or Y, respectively. Each of the thresholds X and Y is set basically on the basis of the previous driving acceleration and velocity of the opening-closing member. The thresholds X and Y are corrected on the basis of a condition exerting an influence upon the driving state of the motor, for example, on the basis of a driving voltage or a resistance to a sliding movement of the opening-closing member.

  • Patent number: 5454028
Abstract: In a cordless key telephone system for servicing separate service zones (3.sub.1, 3.sub.2), a cordless station (5) establishes a two-way radio channel with an access unit (4) of the service zone in which it is located, and constantly monitors the field intensity of the established channel and transmits a zone switching signal when the field intensity is below a specified level as an indication that the cordless station is leaving a first zone (3.sub.1) and entering a second zone (3.sub.2). A main controller (2) establishes a switched connection between exchange lines (6) and the access units (4). In response to the zone switching signal from a given cordless station via the access unit of the first zone, the main controller holds an exchange line (6.sub.i) that is connected to the access unit (4.sub.j) of the first zone through a first switched connection, and establishes a second switched connection between the exchange line (6.sub.i) and the access unit (4.sub.

  • Patent number: 5406614
Abstract: In a service area of a mobile telephone system, there are plural base radio stations. A mobile radio station in the service area broadcasts a request signal of zone registration. All the base stations in the service area receive this request signal, measure the field intensity of the signal, and transmit the value of the measured intensity to the mobile radio station. The mobile radio station transmits a response signal to a base radio station where the field intensity is the highest. This response signal is reported to a radio channel control unit where the contents of the zone register is revised in accordance with the reported response.

  • Patent number: 5332057
Abstract: A contact preventive system for vehicles using an automatic braking device and an automatic steering device together. Contact forecasting mechanism forecasts the contact of a vehicle with an obstacle. When the contact of the obstacle is forecasted, automatic braking control mechanism operates the automatic braking device. Environment detecting mechanism detects the change of environment such as a friction coefficient of a road. Automatic steering control mechanism operates the automatic steering device to alter the advance direction of the vehicle when a possibility of contact is caused by the change of environment during automatic braking. Thus, contact can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5283817
Abstract: In a cordless key telephone system for covering multiple service areas, access units are divided into groups corresponding respectively to the service areas, the access units of each group being located in the corresponding service area for broadcasting a recurrent sequence of address signals on a two-way radio control channel and carrying speech signals on an assigned two-way telephone channel. The access units of each group has a uniquely assigned control channel different in frequency from the control channel of the other group. Cordless stations are switchable to the control channel of a first group of the access units for detecting an address signal and subsequently switchable to the control channel of the access units of a second group if the address signal is not detected in a first sequence for detecting the addressed signal in a second sequence.

  • Patent number: 5125472
Abstract: A passenger attitude control apparatus for use in combination with an air bag disposed to restrain the upper body of a passenger at the moment of a collision. Under normal conditions, a passenger is seated on a cushion supported by a cushion spring having one end fixed to the back side of a seat and with the other end fixed to a rotatable shaft having an attached end plate which is prevented from turning by a locking member. At substantially the same time as the operation of the air bag, upon the occurrence of a collision, the locking member releases the end plate enabling the shaft to turn, causing the passenger and seat to descend. The passenger is distanced from the front portion of the compartment to prevent the passenger from sustaining injury.
