  • Publication number: 20170179207
Abstract: How a flat panel display is bent by external forces is controlled. A display panel 40 has display elements, formed corresponding to the arrangement of pixels, on a first principal surface of a flexible display panel substrate 46. The display panel substrate 46 has a linear groove 48 on at least part of a second principal surface of the display panel substrate 46. A resin is stacked on a support substrate having a linear ridge on at least part of the surface of the support substrate. The surface shape of the support substrate is transferred to the resin so that the groove 48 is molded. Thus, the display panel substrate 46 made of the resin is formed on the support substrate. After the display elements are formed on the display panel substrate 46, the support substrate is removed from the display panel substrate 46.

  • Publication number: 20170179206
Abstract: In a display device, light emitting areas and colored areas each have a predetermined planar shape having no rotational symmetry so that rotation of the area by an angle greater than or equal to 0° but smaller than 360° does not produce an initial shape of the area and are so arranged as to have different types of rotation angle. The colored areas are grouped based on a set of the colored areas of colors different from one another to forma plurality of full-color pixels. The full-color pixels are so arranged that the rotation angle of the colored areas of the same color have different types. In the full-color pixels of the same type, the colored areas of the same color have the same rotation angle. • Patent number: 9665194
Abstract: In a seal part where a translucent opposite substrate and an element substrate are bonded together, a peripheral member is provided in such a manner as to be buried in a sealing member. This prevents the sealing member from breaking, thus making it possible to make the seal part durable to improve the strength of the panel. Further, an output wiring connected to an electrode pattern of a sensing unit can be protected by being covered with a protective insulating layer. The peripheral member and the protective insulating layer can be formed by the same insulating material. This makes it possible to simplify the process to reduce production costs.
