  • Patent number: 5936519
Abstract: A tire pressure drop detecting method, capable of accurately detecting whether the pneumatic pressure of a tire has dropped even if a large driving torque is exerted on the tires. The rotational angular velocities of tires provided for a vehicle are detected and a front/rear acceleration of the vehicle is detected, and then it is discriminated whether the vehicle is in a predetermined decelerated state or not, based on the detected front/rear acceleration of the vehicle. If the vehicle is in the predetermined decelerated state, it is judged whether the pneumatic pressure of the tires has dropped, based on the detected rotational angular velocities. The pneumatic pressure drop of the tire is judged only when the vehicle is in the decelerated state where a difference between the rotational angular velocity of the tire at the time of pneumatic pressure drop and that at the time of a normal inner pressure is relatively large.

  • Patent number: 5288141
Abstract: An antilock brake system is constructed in such a manner that a housing 61 of an electronic unit 6 is connected integrally to a housing of a hydraulic unit main body 5 for controlling brake fluid pressures, and an upper housing 71 of a junction block 7 is connected to the housing 61 of the electronic unit 6. An electric wiring section for the electronic unit 6 is constituted by bus bars 75 incorporated in the junction block 7. Even in the event that the antilock brake system is equipped on an automobile, the number of wiring harnesses extending between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment can be reduced. In addition, the number of components that are mounted on the automobile can also be reduced, thereby making it possible to reduce the man hour for fabrication.

  • Patent number: 4817372
Abstract: A power lawn mower has a cutter blade mounted on a vertical output shaft driven by an engine and extending substantially horizontally, and a housing covering the cutter blade. The power lawn mower has a throw-out plate for throwing out the grass cut by the cutter blade, the throw-out plate being mounted on the output shaft above the cutter blade within the housing and extending substantially horizontally. The throw-out plate is angularly spaced from the cutter blade and positioned therebehind in the direction of rotation of the throw-out plate. The throw-out plate is shorter than the cutter blade and substantially flat. The throw-out plate includes a throw-out arm having a leading edge in the direction of rotation thereof and curved progresively rearwardly in the same direction from a proximal end of the throw-out arm to a radially outward end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4738084
Abstract: A power grass mower (1; 100; 200) comprising a grass cutter (6) disposed under a mower body (2), a cutter housing (7; 107), a travelling mechanism (3, 4; 203, 204, 201) adapted to have the mower (1; 100; 200) travel, a power source (5) mounted on the mower body (2) to drive the cutter (6) and the travelling mechanism (3, 4; 203, 204, 201), and a handle member (14) connected to the mower body (2). The power grass mower (1; 100; 200) further comprises a handle position setting mechanism (39) for interconnecting a lower end part (14c) of the handle member (14) with the mower body (2), such that the handle member (14) is selectively turningly movable in the plan view thereof, relative to the mower body (2), substantially about the lower end part (14c) thereof, and for locking to set the handle member (14) at a voluntarily selected turning position thereof.
