  • Publication number: 20130177191
Abstract: An audio recorder having a plurality of microphones including at least a first microphone and a second microphone provided in a first housing and a second housing, respectively, at least one of the first housing and the second housing being rotatably supported, and having an audio recording function in a set prescribed audio recording mode, in which the first housing and the second housing are arranged vertically one above the other, and the audio recorder has means for setting a prescribed audio recording mode in accordance with a relative position of the first microphone and the second microphone. According to this audio recorder, the prescribed audio recording mode is set in accordance with the relative position of the first housing and the second housing. Thus, a desired audio recording mode can be set more intuitively by a user.

  • Patent number: 7574273
Abstract: An audio recording device is provided with a first casing, which includes a sound collection means, a second casing, which includes a terminal for connection to an external device. One end portion of the second casing is rotatably joined to a lower end portion of the first casing, such that the second casing can be folded and stored on a rear side of the first casing; the sound collection means is provided at an upper portion of the first casing; and the connection terminal is protrudingly provided on another end portion of the second casing. Furthermore, a recessed portion, into which the connection terminal is fitted, may be formed at a raised portion on the rear side of the first casing, and a front end portion of the connection terminal may be covered by a wall of the recessed portion when the second casing is in a folded and stored state.

  • Patent number: 7103431
Abstract: A sound reproducing apparatus (10) includes a slot (16) to which a memory card (18) is attached. A decoding software for decoding sound data is stored in an audio file recorded on the memory card (18). The decoding software is loaded into a RAM (22b) by a CPU (20) when it is not possible to decode the sound data by the decoding software stored on a ROM (22a). Therefore, a DSP (22) decodes sound data read from the same audio file in accordance with the decoding software loaded from the audio file.

  • Patent number: 5926826
Abstract: An erasable programmable ROM has a storage area which is divided into blocks having a predetermined block length, each assigned a block address and provided with information. With reference to block addresses and information, the CPU specifies the blocks to be used for storing and writes a file to the ROM in block units. The CPU writes the file first to a blank block having a writing start mark written the blank block when the blank block is present or to an optional blank block if otherwise and then successively to other blank blocks. On completion of writing, the CPU searches for a blank block downstream from the last block used for writing and writes a writing start mark to the blank block found.
