  • Patent number: 4871497
Abstract: In a casting method comprising casting a slip containing water or an organic solvent as the medium into a mold and removing the mold after solidification of the slip, use of a mold formed with an organic binder soluble in the medium of the slip allows the slip to quickly solidify and afford a green body due to absorption of the medium in the slip by the mold. In this case, the mold softens with loss of the binding power thereof simultaneously with the absorption of the medium. Therefore, no cracks appear at all in the green body, and removal of the mold is very easy.

  • Patent number: 4817573
Abstract: A fuel control device for internal-combustion engines in which a proper correction value is calculated from the contents of memories corresponding to adjacent representative points, meeting every condition of the amount of mixture drawn in, by selecting representative points to represent the tendency of a flow-dependency characteristic change of intake sensor output, thereby obtaining a proper correction value in a region where the negative feedback of air-fuel ratio is controlled as well as in a region where the negative feedback can not be controlled.

  • Patent number: 4808360
Abstract: A mold forming method in which a pattern is made of an organic material such as foamed polystyrene and at least a portion of the outer or inner surface of the mold pattern is covered by a thin coating, and surrounded with a mold material. The pattern is then dissolved by a solvent, leaving the coating undissolved. The coating is finally removed by a solvent contained in a slip which is poured into the cavity provided with the coating.

  • Patent number: 4795686
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sodium-sulfur electric cell structure having a specific joint between a cathode tube and an anode tube. The cathode and anode tubes are each made of an iron-nickel base alloy and are joined to each other through the medium of a ceramic ring and an aluminum alloy insert provided on both sides of the ceramic ring. A chromium or chromium-rich layer is formed at the joint boundary between the insert and each tube. The sodium-sulfur electric cell having such a structure eliminates a problem of the occurrence of cracking, improves the airtightness and enables the production of large-sized electric cells.

  • Patent number: 4749118
Abstract: When a ceramic is bonded to a metal having a low thermal expansion, if a Cr layer of a Cr diffusion layer is formed on the surface of the metal and the ceramic is bonded to the metal through this Cr layer or Cr diffusion layer by an Al insert, a bonded structure having a good air-tightness and a high strength is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4683455
Abstract: A shifting timing indicating system for a vehicle includes a control circuit having an engine rpm sensor for detecting the engine rpm and a rpm comparator which receives the output of the engine rpm sensor and determines whether the engine rpm exceeds a preset value. The control circuit outputs a shift-up signal when the engine rpm exceeds the preset value. A shift-up indicator receives the shift-up signal from the control circuit and makes a shift-up display to direct the operator of the vehicle to shift up. An acceleration detecting circuit detects the rate of increase in engine load and the shift-up indicator is inhibited from making the shift-up display for a predetermined time interval which is extended with increase in the rate of increase in engine load.
