  • Patent number: 8923526
Abstract: An audio device (e.g. an AV amplifier), with a plurality of audio output terminals according to the HDMI standard, converts audio data of a source device into audio signals suited to audio reproduction abilities (e.g. channel counts) of sink devices. The audio device stores a plurality of audio reproduction ability information describing the predetermined channel count thereof and the channel counts of sink devices, wherein arbitrary audio reproduction ability information precluding audio reproduction ability information of a sink device with the smallest channel count is provided to a source device. The audio device performs down-mixing on audio signals with respect to a sink device whose channel count is smaller than the predetermined channel count, while the audio device performs signal processing on audio signals with respect to a sink device whose channel count is larger than the predetermined channel count.

  • Patent number: 6856756
Abstract: A digital data transmitting apparatus including a reproducing device classifies serial packet data that are read at a variable rate from a digital data medium and demodulates into at least picture data, audio data and other data, an MPEG transport stream (MPEG-TS) generating device generates an MPEG-TS based on the digital data, and a digital interface device converts the generated MPEG-TS into digital transmission data and transmits the digital transmission data at a predetermined transmission rate. A digital data receiving apparatus including a digital interface device is operable at a predetermined transmission rate, a digital data receiving device receives digital data via the digital interface device, an MPEG-TS reproducing device reproduces an MPEG-TS from the received digital data, a reproducing device classifies the reproduced MPEG-TS into at least picture data, audio data, and private data, and a control device controls the reproducing device based on the private data.

  • Patent number: 6266318
Abstract: CLV-type recordable optical disk includes a plurality of tracks which are formed in such a manner that 2&pgr;Tp/&lgr; substantially equals an even-number multiple of 0.5 where Tp is a track pitch and &lgr; is a wavelength of a track wobble. Each of the tracks is divided into a plurality of ECC blocks, and each of the ECC blocks is composed of 16 sectors. Each of the sectors is composed of 26 sync frames. In each of the sectors of the track, information recording areas are set normally in even-numbered sync frames. However, in each portion where there would occur overlap in the information recording area, in the radial direction of the disk, between the track and an adjoining track located inward of the track, the information recording areas are set in odd-numbered sync frames. One piece of address information is divided into a plurality of address information elements and recorded dispersedly in the sync frames across a plurality of the sectors.
