  • Patent number: 5203218
Abstract: A memory cartridge unloading system in which a memory cartridge inserted into a connector provided in a main body of an apparatus using a memory cartridge can be pulled out from the connector by use of a leverage mechanism. In the unloading system, the memory cartridge is moved in the discharge direction thereof by the leverage mechanism. In the leverage mechanism, the leverage thereof can be changed according to the positions of movement of the memory cartridge in the discharge direction, so that a first force can be generated until the memory cartridge is generated which can pull out the memory cartridge from the apparatus main body the second force being an amount necessary for a finger catch.

  • Patent number: 5155663
Abstract: A memory cartridge system having a compact memory cartridge and an adapter which mounts a compact memory cartridge within a reproducing apparatus designed for a standard memory cartridge of a larger size. The adapter with the compact memory cartridge being mounted thereon is substantially the same shape and size as the standard memory cartridge. According to a preferred embodiment, the adapter has a connector for electrical connection with the compact memory cartridge and a connector to be coupled to the reproducing apparatus. The compact memory cartridge is connected electrically to the reproducing apparatus via the adapter. The compact memory cartridge is guided to a predetermined mounting position by guide grooves and projections, and is held at that position. A suitable combination of shapes and lengths of the guide protrusions and grooves prevents the compact memory cartridge with incorrect settings of its top and bottom surfaces or its right and left sides from being mounted on the adapter.

  • Patent number: 5146069
Abstract: A memory cartridge loading/unloading device is disclosed which loads and unloads a memory cartridge from an apparatus for using the memory cartridge by means of motor driving. In the loading/unloading device, until the memory cartridge reaches a given position within a main body of the apparatus, the memory cartridge is pulled in by rotating a roller which presses against the memory cartridge such that there can be produced a given friction force with respect to the memory cartridge. When the memory cartridge reaches the given position, then an engagement member is brought into engagement with the memory cartridge and then the engagement member is moved in a cartridge insertion direction by means of motor driving, so that the memory cartridge can be pushed into a connector disposed within the apparatus main body.

  • Patent number: 5032921
Abstract: A digital still camera using a memory cartridge as a storage medium. In the digital still camera, a connector, which is disposed on the side of the camera and into which the memory cartridge is inserted, is abutted against and supported by the inner wall surface of a camera chassis. Due to this, the digital still camera is sufficiently able to tolerate a load occurring when the memory cartridge is inserted, by means of the simplified structure thereof.

  • Patent number: 4897590
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for gaining high-speed random access to a track in a magnetic recording/playback system of the type in which a magnetic head is shifted to an adjacent track in response to a forward-feed/reverse-feed signal and the head is positioned at the center of this track by tracking control. When the track number of a track to be accessed is designated, the designated track number is compared with a track number at which the magnetic head is presently located. An apparatus is provided for fast-feeding the magnetic head to a track adjoining the designated track on the basis of the comparison, and for subsequently outputting the forward-feed/reverse-feed signal for the purpose of tracking control.

  • Patent number: 4829383
Abstract: A camera including a casing in which a video camera unit for shooting a movie picture and a still camera unit for shooting a still picture are disposed, thereby enabling movie and still pictures to be shot at the same time. A housing to contain the still camera unit is rotable with respect to the casing, which exposes an opening of the housing to load a film by a drop-in loading. Since the housing containing the still camera unit rotates toward the front side of the casing, it is not necessary to reserve a space for a backward movement of the cap member of the still camera unit, which enables the camera to be designed in compact.

  • Patent number: 4829394
Abstract: A device is disclosed for detecting a position of reference for the movement of a magnetic head when the magnetic head is moved by a driving force from a rotary driving source in the radial direction of a magnetic disc. A plurality of rotary members having speed reduction ratios different from each other are rotated by the rotary driving source, and a time, at which phases of these rotary members coincide with each other, is made to be the position of reference. Here, the speed reduction ratios of the plurality of rotary members are selected such that the phases of the plurality of rotary members coincide with each other only once during the movement of the magnetic head over the all of area of the magnetic recording.

  • Patent number: 4803573
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for gaining high-speed random access to a track in an existing magnetic recording/playback system of the type in which a magnetic head is shifted one track at a time to an adjacent track in response to a forward-feed/reverse-feed signal and the head is positioned at the center of this track by tracking control. When the track number of a track to be accessed is designated, the designated track number is compared with a track number at which the magnetic head is presently located. • Patent number: 4302091
Abstract: A bound preventing device for focal plane shutters which is provided with a rear blade operating arm which can move a rear blade between an exposure aperture covering position and opening position and a brake lever which is set in the motion track of the rear blade operating arm and can collide with a rear blade operating lever in order to control the rear blade operating arm in the final stage of the motion of the rear blade operating arm so as to prevent bounds when the motion of the rear blade ends. This brake lever can also catch the rear blade operating arm when it collides with the rear blade operating arm.
