  • Publication number: 20240103086
Abstract: A method of self-discharge test for a battery including an electrode body provided with a positive electrode plate including a positive active material layer and a negative electrode plate including a negative active material layer. The method includes a process of voltage adjusting to adjust a battery voltage to a first battery voltage and a process of self-discharge testing to keep the battery in a terminal open state for a predetermined term and to inspect a state of self-discharge of the battery from variations in the battery voltage occurred during the predetermined term. The voltage adjusting is to adjust the battery voltage to the first battery voltage having magnitude, for which a variation settled time of settling a variation amount of the battery voltage varied by Li diffusion to lessen a concentration gap of an opposing-portion concentration and a non-opposing portion concentration, is set as 17 hours or less.

  • Publication number: 20240103089
Abstract: A method for inspecting a power storage device for short circuit includes: adjusting a plurality of power storage devices to a first device voltage; restraining the power storage devices; measuring a pre-leaving device voltage, leaving the power storage devices, and measuring a post-leaving device voltage; obtaining a voltage drop rate; and determining whether or not a restrained device is short-circuited using a voltage drop rate. The method further includes: calculating a largest adjustment timing difference between an oldest adjustment completion time of an oldest adjusted device and a newest adjustment completion time of a newest adjusted device, after adjusting the voltage but before measuring the pre-leaving voltage; obtaining a shortest standby time from the largest adjustment timing difference; and deferring the measuring of the pre-leaving voltage until the shortest standby time elapses.

  • Publication number: 20240103095
Abstract: A method for inspecting a battery for short circuit includes: adjusting batteries, which have been subjected to initial charging and subsequent charging and discharging, to a first device voltage; measuring a pre-leaving voltage; leaving the batteries for a leaving period with terminals in an open state; measuring a post-leaving device voltage; actually measuring an actual measured voltage drop rate; determining whether or not each voltage is short-circuited; and, prior to the determining, estimating an estimating voltage drop rate according to an elapsed time and a leaving period. In the determining, it is determined whether or not each battery is short-circuited using the actual voltage drop rate and the estimated voltage drop rate.

  • Patent number: 5421982
Abstract: An electrically conductive polymer gel is composed of a crosslinked polyacrylamide polymer including an electrolytic salt, water and a polyhydric alcohol uniformly dissolved therein, wherein the water and the polyhydric alcohol are major components of said polymer gel. The polyacrylamide series polymer in the gel has properties of being hydrophilic and being a nonelectrolyte. Therefore, a desirable connection between the gel and the electrode can be achieved with low impedance. Moreover, the polyhydric alcohol reduces the drying speed of the electrically conductive polymer gel, thereby preventing an increase in the impedance due to the dryout of the gel. Therefore, the electrically conductive polymer gel of the present invention permits an accurate measurement of an electrical phenomenon in an organism for long periods of time.
