    Abstract: A vehicle suspension system has liquid pressure cylinder devices provided between the respective wheels and the vehicle body. Supply and discharge of hydraulic liquid to and from the liquid pressure cylinder devices is controlled according to the running condition of the vehicle. Each of the liquid pressure cylinder devices communicates with a pair of gas springs, each having a gas chamber and a liquid chamber parted from each other by a movable member. The liquid chamber communicates with the liquid pressure chamber of the liquid pressure cylinder device by way of a communicating passage, and the gas chamber is filled with gas. The initial pressure of one of the gas springs is higher than that of the other.

    Abstract: A paper feeder for printers having front and back pin tractor assemblies disposed on opposite sides of a platen roller with respect to the paper feed route. Each tractor has a plurality of pins which are rotatable so as to convey the continuous paper. A reversible drive source is coupled to both the pin tractors. A clutch selectively decouples the drive source from the front pin tractors in accordance with the rotational direction of the drive source. A switch mechanism independent of the clutch also selectively decouples the front pin tractor from the drive source. The described structure allows paper stack to be automatically removed from between the tractors.

    Abstract: A printing system prints characters or figures on a label removably adhered to a backing web on a platen roller. Separating rollers are disposed on the downstream side of the platen roller. A backing web with labels fed out from the platen roller after printing is bent by the separating rollers. The backing web bent by the separating rollers is drawn out from the separating rollers by a backing web feeding mechanism. When the backing web is bent by the separating rollers and drawn out from the separating rollers by the backing web feeding mechanism, a label is peeled off from the backing web to which it has been adhered. The separating rollers and the backing web feeding mechanism are coupled in an integral relation to constitute a label separating device. The label separating device is removably supported on a body of the print system.

When the rebound is detected by the rebound detecting sensor to be above a given value, if the pressure detected by the pressure detecting means is continued at a magnitude above a given value for a given period of time, it is judged that the supply/discharge control valve is in trouble.

    Abstract: A suspension system for a vehicle has cylinder devices, in which suspension characteristics are changed by controlling fluid supply or discharge to or from the cylinder devices. In the suspension system, after sensing a vehicle height displacement, the fluid supply or discharge to or from the cylinder devices is controlled so as to set the vehicle height displacement to a desired value in a vehicle height displacement control. Also, the fluid pressure in the cylinder, devices is sensed, and a warping of the vehicle body is computed, based on sensed pressures. Then, fluid supply or discharge to or from the cylinder devices is controlled so as to suppress the warping of the vehicle body in a warp control. According to predetermined conditions, a warp gain coefficient in a warp control unit is changed, so that the vehicle height displacement control and the warp control are performed optimally.

The piston rod is provided with a fluid passage which axially extends through the piston rod and the lower end of which opens to the hydraulic chamber of the cylinder-piston device. A support member is fixed to the piston rod at an upper portion below the mount.

When the running status is detected to such an extent that changes the status amount, the target value can be corrected in anticipation prior to a change in the posture status amount, thereby preventing the change in the posture status amount.

    Abstract: A vehicle suspension system includes a liquid piston-cylinder device connected between the vehicle body and a wheel. A liquid pump is provided in a liquid passage which connects the liquid piston-cylinder device to a reservoir in which hydraulic liquid is reserved, and feeds under pressure the hydraulic liquid in the reservoir through the liquid passage. A control valve controls the flow of the hydraulic liquid through the liquid passage, thereby controlling feed and discharge of the hydraulic liquid to and from the liquid piston-cylinder device in order to control the properties of the suspension. An accumulator is connected to the liquid passage between the liquid pump and the control valve and accumulates the hydraulic liquid under pressure. A return passage connects the reservoir to the liquid passage between the liquid pump and the control valve and is provided with an on-off valve which opens and closes the return passage.

A failure in the fluid control system is detected and when the control system fails, one of first to third measure modes is taken on the basis of the kind of the failure. Warning is just given and the control of feed and discharge of hydraulic fluid to and from the fluid cylinders being continued when the first measure mode is taken, the control of feed and discharge of hydraulic fluid to and from the fluid cylinders is interrupted with the chassis height fixed to the present height when the second measure mode is taken, and the fluid in the fluid cylinders is discharged and the chassis height is lowered when the third measure mode is taken.
