  • Patent number: 5144505
Abstract: Movable members of a tape guide member for tape loading are disposed in plural numbers on both the upstream side and the downstream side of a tape running path with respect to a rotatable cylinder, or are disposed in plural number on at least either the upstream side or the downstream side. The plurality of movable members are disposed offset from each other in the radial direction of the rotatable cylinder. Tilt guides for converting the tape running direction are disposed between the associated movable members, and fixed to the stationary component side. A guide passage forming member along which the movable members are guided is also fixed to the stationary component side. Guide portions of the guide passage forming member are provided in plural number individually associated with the movable members. The guide portion nearer to the rotatable cylinder is set to always have a larger tilt angle than that of the outer guide portion with the plane of a tape cassette being a reference.

  • Patent number: 4789912
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus of rotary head type such as a rotatable video tape recorder has a tape guide for guiding the magnetic tape when the tape runs on and around a cylinder carrying rotary heads. A tape loading movable member carries the tape guide. A tape loading drive is provided for driving the tape loading movable member so as to move the tape guide between a tape loading position where it places the magnetic tape in contact with the cylinder through a predetermined angle and an unloading position where it keeps the magnetic tape away from the cylinder. A locating unit is provided on at least one of the cylinder and a cylinder base carrying the cylinder. The locating unit is adapted for engaging with the tape loading movable member in the tape loading position so as to locate the tape guide with respect to the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4630132
Abstract: A helical scan type magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus in which a magnetic tape is guided helically around a rotary magnetic head assembly over an angular range approximating to 360.degree.. Two magnetic heads are disposed relatively closely to each other at an angle smaller than 180.degree.. The rotary magnetic heads assembly performs a single complete rotation for a unit period, for example, one field period. In recording, video signal of the unit period undergoes time axis compression to be compressed to a period corresponding to a scanning period of the heads during which the magnetic heads are in contact with the magnetic tape in each rotation of the head assembly and supplied to alternately the magnetic heads which are so designed that the azimuth angles of the respective gaps differ from each other.

  • Patent number: 4550345
Abstract: In a video tape recorder of the rotary two-head helically scanning type, a magnetic recording/reproducing system provided with a mode judging device in which a video signal is recorded onto a recording track in a multiplex manner together with a pilot signal for use in judgement of the recording time mode and when the record is reproduced the pilot signal is detected to thereby judge the recording time mode.

  • Patent number: 4497000
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus for sequentially recording each of four pilot signals of different frequencies on each video track to be multiplexed with a video signal and reproducing the video signal and the pilot signals at which time the pilot signals are separated from the video signal and used as a tracking signal to control the transport speed of the magnetic tape, wherein upon reproduction the levels of the pilot signals reproduced from the right and left adjacent video tracks are detected and one of the reproduced pilot signals from the right and left adjacent tracks is controlled in its level so that the tape travelling speed is controlled to make the center of the video head scan the same position on the track as upon recording.

  • Patent number: 4163266
Abstract: Guiding drums for a magnetic tape scanning assembly for use in a video tape recorder and playback apparatus are made of a specific aluminum-silicon alloy consisting essentially of 8 to 15% by weight of silicon, 1 to 4% by weight of copper, 0.05 to 0.6% by weight of magnesium, and the balance being aluminum. A mean grain size of silicon crystal in eutectic structure is controlled to be 5 .mu.m or less. The drums are provided with a diagonal or helical guiding path on the peripheries thereof in which there are formed on the guiding path generally continuous, fine machining lines having a roughness (H max) of 1 to 6 .mu.m, preferably 2 to 5 .mu.m, in a direction parallel with sliding travel of a magnetic tape.
