  • Patent number: 4353333
Abstract: A two cycle engine has a cylinder, a piston axially slidably mounted in said cylinder, and through the wall of the cylinder an intake port, exhaust port, and scavenging port. These ports are respectively connected to intake, exhaust, and scavenging passages. An auxiliary intake passage opens through the cylinder wall, circumferentially spaced from the other intake passage so as to leave an axially-extending side-support surface to permit of an enlarged total intake port area without permitting the piston to tilt or otherwise wander from its true path, thereby to reduce piston clatter and wear, and to improve engine performance.

  • Patent number: 4337734
Abstract: In a two cycle internal combustion engine having a cylinder, a piston, and an exhaust port, the improvement comprising tapering the edge of the exhaust port farthest into the cylinder where it intersects the cylinder wall as an isosceles triangle.

  • Patent number: 4333431
Abstract: A water-cooled two stroke engine including a cylinder formed with an exhaust port which is adapted to be cyclically closed by a piston reciprocating in the cylinder. The exhaust port is provided at the upper portion with a port timing control valve which is operated to control the port timing in accordance with the engine speed by a piston-cylinder type actuator. The actuator is adaped to be operated by the engine cooling water pressure and has an operating pressure chamber at one side of the piston and a compensating pressure chamber at the other side. The cooling water supply passage has a flow restriction and the pressure upstream of the restriction is introduced into the operating pressure chamber and that downstream of the restriction into the compensating pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 4285311
Abstract: Two stroke engine having an exhaust port provided with a rotary type timing control valve at the upper portion thereof. The control valve is connected with a centrifugal actuator which is responsive to the engine speed so that the exhaust port is wide open under a high speed engine operation but covered at the upper portion by said control valve under a low speed operation to change the exhaust port timing.

  • Patent number: 4099793
Abstract: Anti-skid type vehicle brake system which comprises a master cylinder, one or more wheel brake actuators, a brake pressure supply line extending between master cylinder and brake pressure supply line, a fluid return line between master cylinder and brake pressure supply line, a skid control valve for connecting brake actuator to the return line when wheel lock or similar condition is detected, fluid pressure actuated regulating valve for introducing a restriction to the brake pressure supply line when actuated by fluid pressure produced in the return line.

  • Patent number: 4090739
Abstract: Anti-skid brake system suitable for use with a motorcycle or a small-sized car. The system includes a solenoid operated skid control valve which has a normal position, a brake pressure releasing position and a blocking position between the two positions. The valve is spring biased toward the normal position to direct braking pressure to the wheel brake actuator but is shifted to the pressure releasing position for anti-skid operation. The valve is prevented from returning to the normal position from the pressure releasing position as long as pressure is supplied from the master cylinder, but is retained in the blocking position when the brake pressure supply line is blocked. A restricted bypass flow passage is provided across the control valve so as to provide a restricted supply of fluid pressure in second and subsequent application of brake pressure.
