  • Patent number: 8667118
Abstract: In a computer system including physical servers on which virtual servers for business use operate and a management server communicably connected to the physical servers, the management server requests physical servers that are targets of performance measurement to activate a performance measurement virtual server based on a virtual server image including an operating system and a performance measurement program. Performance information measured by the performance measurement virtual server activated on each physical server is fed to the management server. It is therefore possible in the communication system to measure a margin processing performance of each physical server according to the same criterion.

  • Publication number: 20140019623
Abstract: A management server device in a virtual server system includes: a unit that collects load data from plural physical server devices; a unit that calculates the amount of resource available in each of the physical server devices using the collected load data; a unit that calculates a resource allocation amount for the managing virtual server so as to fall within the range of the calculated amount of resource available; and a unit that instructs a physical server device on which the managing virtual server is running to allocate the resource with the calculated resource allocation amount for the managing virtual server.

  • Publication number: 20130205024
Abstract: A server system (1) includes a management device (100) connected through a communication network (3) to plural physical servers (10) on which plural virtual servers (20) run and managing the plural virtual servers (20) running on the physical servers (10), the management device (100) including a judging unit (104) that divides a process of judging whether an available resource capacity, in a case where the virtual servers (20) run on the physical servers (10), satisfies a predetermined condition, into plural processes for every predetermined unit of time, and performs the processes of judging through parallel distributed processing.

  • Publication number: 20120311600
Abstract: A workload that can be processed with a resource amount available in a physical server is estimated. An information processing apparatus 20 includes a performance information storage unit 25 that stores information indicating each of plural types of workloads and a resource amount of the physical server allocated to each of the workloads when the workloads are run in a physical server 30, in a manner to be associated with each other, an acquiring unit 21 that acquires a resource amount available in the physical server 30, a comparison unit 22 that selects at least one stored work load, and compares the available resource amount with the resource amount associated with the selected workload, and a first extraction unit 23 that extracts the selected workload if the compared resource amount is less than or equal to the available resource amount.

  • Publication number: 20120198063
Abstract: An autonomous control server (2) connected to a plurality of physical servers (31 to 3m) on which a plurality of virtual servers (311 to 3mn) run through a communication network (1) measures maximum processing performance of each of a plurality of the physical servers (31 to 3m) as a process of a first pass and determines an amount of resources that satisfies an required amount of processing performance of each of a plurality of the virtual servers (311 to 3mn) as a process of a second pass. Therefore, the amount of resources that satisfies the required amount of processing performance of the virtual servers (311 to 3mn) can be allocated to the virtual servers (311 to 3mn). Thereby, a virtual server system which can prevent a capacity shortage of the virtual servers and useless free resources from occurring is provided.

  • Publication number: 20110161483
Abstract: Physical servers in which a plurality of servers can operate are classified into groups in accordance with a predetermined index, such as loads and amounts of free resources of the physical servers. A predetermined number of representative servers are selected in each group, a physical server as a destination of a target virtual server is determined from among the representative servers of each group, and the target virtual server is moved to the determined physical server as the destination.
