  • Publication number: 20240135970
Abstract: A magnetic-disk substrate according to an embodiment includes two main surfaces and an outer circumferential edge surface. In the magnetic-disk substrate, the outer circumferential edge surface includes two chamfered surfaces that are respectively connected to the main surfaces, and a side wall surface that is curved and extends to protrude outward between the two chamfered surfaces. The side wall surface has a radius of curvature of 1100 ?m or more on a cross-section of the magnetic-disk substrate extending along a plate thickness direction of the magnetic-disk substrate.

  • Patent number: 7054707
Abstract: This invention is directed to prevention of setting a component feeding unit set with other storage member than a storage member storing same type of components as components in shortage in an electronic component mounting apparatus. A component mounting apparatus sends notice information about component shortage to a control computer when a number of electronic components in a storage member reduces and reaches a level for sending the notice information of component shortage during mounting operations. The control computer stores the notice information, and sends the notice information to a monitor computer to display this information on a monitor. A new storage member having the corresponding components is set in the component feeding unit based on the displayed notice information, and an operator inputs information A about which component feeding unit is set with the storage member and which components are stored in the storage member set in the component feeding unit.

  • Patent number: 5403429
Abstract: An apparatus for joining the ends of belt-shaped members. The apparatus includes first and second transporting devices, a positioning device, and an end affixing device. The first and second transporting devices extend and retract in the longitudinal direction of the belt-shaped member, and transport the belt-shaped members in the longitudinal direction thereof. The positioning device stops the transport of the belt-shaped members and positions the belt-shaped members as opposing ends of the belt-shaped members on the first and second transporting devices being driven abut against the positioning device. The end affixing device joins the aligned ends of the belt-shaped members. Accordingly, the apparatus for joining the ends of belt-shaped members properly positions and joins the opposing ends of the belt-shaped members on the first and second transporting devices.

  • Patent number: 5387303
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a rubber sheet having cords embedded therein includes a grooved roll formed in its circumference with a plurality of circumferential grooves for arranging cords with equal pitches, and a pressure-joining roll arranged spaced from the grooved roll for pressure-joining a first rubber sheet with the cords arranged with the equal pitches in a first pressure-joining position between the grooved roll and the pressure-joining roll. The apparatus further includes a groove forming roll for forming a plurality of longitudinal grooves in one surface of a second rubber sheet, and a forming roll arranged spaced from the pressure-joining roll to form a second pressure-joining position between the forming roll and the pressure-joining roll.

  • Patent number: 5328532
Abstract: A method of forming a ply member such as a carcass ply for a radial tire. The ply member is formed a plurality of belt-shaped members having a width obtained by multiplying .pi. inches by an integral number (1, 2, 3, . . . ) and a constant length. These belt-shaped members are successively attached one by one onto a forming drum having an outer circumferential length obtained by multiplying .pi. inches by an integral number so that the side edges of the belt-shaped members are arranged in parallel with the axis of the forming drum. The adjacent side edges of the belt-shaped members in circumferential directions of the forming drum are forced closer together to butt-join the faces of the side edges with each other. In case that the forming drum is a polygonal cylindrical forming drum whose one side of the polygon has a length obtained by multiplying .pi. inches by an integral number, the belt-shaped members are more easily attached to the forming drum.

  • Patent number: 4838137
Abstract: In an apparatus for introducing a belt-shaped material to a cutting machine, stationary conveyors are laid vertically in such a manner as to form different angles with respect to the cutting machine and combined respectively, with lift conveyors which are also laid vertically to convey belt shaped materials to the cutting machine. The lift conveyors are moved vertically by lifting means unit a desired one of the lift conveyors comes to the belt-shaped material introducing position of the cutting machine.

  • Patent number: 4765862
Abstract: In an apparatus for joining the ends of belt-shaped materials which comprises a front end lower pawl and a front end upper pawl which are driven to hold the front end portion of a first belt-shaped material and a rear end lower pawl and a rear end upper pawl which are driven to hold the rear end portion of a second belt-shaped material, so as to butt-join the front end of the first belt-shaped material and the rear end of the second belt-shaped material. The rear end lower pawl and the rear end upper pawl have rear end protrusions arranged like the teeth of a comb and which protrude towards the front end lower pawl and the front end upper pawl, respectively. The front end lower pawl and the front end upper pawl also have front end protrusions arranged like the teeth of a comb and which protrude towards the rear end lower pawl and the rear end upper pawl, respectively.
