  • Patent number: 6142117
Abstract: An engine control system for an internal combustion engine comprises a combustion system for changing over a combustion mode from a first mode such as a stratified charge combustion mode to a second mode such as a homogeneous charge combustion mode, and an EGR system for controlling an EGR flow to the engine with an EGR control valve. A controller calculates a delayed target equivalent ratio which varies gradually from a first ratio for the first mode to a second ratio for the second mode, and further calculates a modified target equivalent ratio in consideration of an amount of an EGR gas. The controller determines the combustion changeover timing by monitoring a parameter based on the modified target equivalent ratio to take account of the influence of the EGR gas.

  • Patent number: 5678520
Abstract: An engine control unit is configured to detect the revolution of an engine and to obtain the intensity of both the first order component of revolution for every combustion (one cycle per combustion) and the second order component of revolution. The second order is twice as much as the first order component. The unit further obtains dispersion or deviation in these intensities. Thereby, it is possible to detect combustion conditions and to correct them to desirable conditions.

  • Patent number: 5611528
Abstract: An image-forming machine comprising a cassette for feeding sheet materials that moves between an acting position and a drawn position which is forwardly drawn from the acting position in the housing of the image-forming machine. Provision is made of a locking mechanism which reliably locks at a preset position a front width restriction member and a rear width restriction member of the cassette for feeding sheet materials. The locking mechanism includes a locking member, a resilient urging member and a forcing means. When the cassette for feeding sheet materials is at the drawn position, the resilient urging member urges the locking member to the release position and when the cassette for feeding sheet materials is moved toward the acting position, the forcing member forces the locking member to the locking position to lock the front width restriction member and the rear width restriction member.

  • Patent number: 5033437
Abstract: A basic fuel injection pulse width value indicating an individual performance of an injector and an intake air flow amount value indicating an individual performance of an air flow sensor are prepared so as to memorize in plural memory areas in a store table, respectively. Deviations due to the basic fuel injection pulse width and deviations due to the intake air flow amount are memorized in the memory areas as learning values for controlling an air-fuel ratio, respectively. A corrected fuel injection pulse width is requested under the memorized learning values. An estimation learning is carried out at a first time learning. A first time learning value of the basic fuel injection pulse width is memorized in a whole area of the store table, and a first time learning value of the intake air flow amount is memorized in a corresponding area of the store table.
