  • Patent number: 7905432
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a casting nozzle in which attachment and deposition of alumina or the like can be prevented while a drift of molten steel can be prevented. The casting nozzle according to the invention is characterized in that the casting nozzle has a molten steel flow hole portion in which “a plurality of independent protrusion portions and/or concave portions” are disposed so that each of the protrusion portions and/or concave portions has a size satisfying the expression (1): H?2 mm and the expression (2): L>2×H mm [in which “H” shows the maximum height of the protrusion portion or the maximum depth of the concave portion, and “L” shows the maximum length of a base portion of the protrusion portion or concave portion].

  • Patent number: 6880472
Abstract: A looper threading apparatus includes a threading member capable of holding a thread in a tip portion and inserting the thread through a thread hole, a guide member for movably accommodating the threading member and guiding the threading member to the thread hole, and a support member for supporting the guide member to freely approach and separate from the thread hole provided on an extended line of the threading member accommodated by the guide member. Moreover, there is provided a moving mechanism for moving the threading member and the guide member along an axis of the thread hole provided on the extended line. The moving mechanism moves the guide member and the threading member with respect to the thread hole provided on the extended line in such a manner that the tip portion of the threading member penetrates through the thread hole.

  • Patent number: 5908577
Abstract: A nozzle for continuous casting which is prevented from clogging due to alumina deposition is disclosed, wherein the inner wall member is made of a refractory material having a carbon content of 1% to 10% by weight; a material other than carbon in the refractory material has a grain size of not more than 420 .mu.m; the inner wall member is integrally molded with the outer nozzle body to form an integral structure; and said inner wall member has a thickness of 2 mm to 12 mm.

  • Patent number: 4091258
Abstract: An arc welding process having a welding arc generated between a consumable electrode and the materials to be welded and a welding torch is oscillated along the welding joint line, wherein the arc length is longer when the welding torch is located at the forward side of the oscillation than when the welding torch is located at the backward side of the oscillation with respect to the weld advancing direction, whereby sufficient penetration is obtained.
