  • Patent number: 10215139
Abstract: A pair of middle cowls is arranged at positions rightward and leftward of a vehicle component located at a position forward of an engine. Part of the right middle cowl is arranged at a position further forward than an air cleaner case. A space in the air cleaner case is divided by a filter element into a first space positioned at a position further downstream than the filter element and a second space positioned at a position further upstream than the filter element. The second space is smaller than the first space. The second space and a third space inward of the right middle cowl communicate with each other by a communicating portion. • Publication number: 20170349233
Abstract: A vehicle, such as a straddle-type vehicle, can include an engine, a catalyst and an air cleaner. The catalyst can be disposed in an expansion chamber of the vehicle. At least a part of the air cleaner can be disposed above a swing arm of the vehicle, and at least a part of the expansion chamber can be disposed below the swing arm. The air cleaner can further be disposed to the rear of a shock absorber of the vehicle. Thus, the influence of heat from the catalyst and the engine on the air cleaner can be reduced. Consequently, efficiency of air induction into the engine can be increased, thereby improving engine output.
