  • Patent number: 7022195
Abstract: An inner cutter for a dry shaver is fabricated from a metal plate to have a plurality of blades each provided with cutting edges. The metal plate includes a plurality of parallel straight slits to leave an array of straight beams each defined between the adjacent ones of the slits. The beams are forged and ground at a segment of each beam to give the cutting edges thereto. After making the cutting edges, the metal plate is bent into a generally U-shaped configuration so as to correspondingly curve the beams and shape the beams into the blades having the arcuate contour and the cutting edges. The metal plate is provided with a joint for connection with a driving source of moving the inner cutter relative to an outer cutter.

  • Patent number: 6951056
Abstract: An inner cutter for a dry shaver has a plurality of blades 30 supported on a base 20 and is driven in hair-shearing engagement with an outer cutter 10 for cutting the hairs. The blades 30 are arranged in parallel with each other and are each provided on opposite sides at its top with cutting edges 32. The cutting edge 32 is defined between the top face of the blade and a rake fade 33 on the underside of the blade. The rake face 33 is inclined with respect to the top face at an angle of ? (°), while the cutting edge is rounded at its tip to have a curvature radius R (?m) which satisfies a relation that R??0.067·?+4.7. With this result, the cutting resistance for cutting the hair can be lowered below a load necessary for bending the hair. Thus, the blade of the inner cutter can itself cut the hair without bending the hair, giving a flat cutting plane finish and enabling a close shave only with a fewer shaving strokes.

  • Patent number: 6255976
Abstract: An intentional offset value is set beforehand. The intentional offset value is larger than a sensing objective signal “sig.” A measuring device is provided for measuring the intentional offset value to obtain a measured intentional offset value “a” representing the quantity of the intentional offset value, and also for measuring a sum of the sensing objective signal “sig” and the intentional offset value to obtain a measured signal value “b” representing a summation of the quantity of the sensing objective signal and the quantity of the intentional offset value. A ratio (b/a) of the measured signal value to the measured intentional offset value is obtained. The obtained ratio is used as noise reducing data for reducing the noise involved in a sensor output.

  • Patent number: 5964034
Abstract: An electric shaver includes a main blade 1 having an external blade formed with a large number of blade holes and an internal blade coming in sliding contact with an inner face of the external blade and trimmer blades 2 being disposed in the proximity of the main blade, each with a blade edge directed in a direction away from the main blade so that the trimmer blades 2 and the main blade 1 can be brought into contact with a skin surface at the same time. Hair raising members 8 are projected on a blade cover 24 covering the top faces of blade members of the trimmer blades 2. When the electric shaver is moved along a skin surface, the hair raising members 8 on the blade cover 24 raise hair, thereby enhancing the hair introduction efficiency into the main blade 1.

  • Patent number: 5943777
Abstract: A dry shaver with a skin stretcher comprises a shaver body and a shaving head mounted on top of the shaver body. The shaving head comprises at least one cutter unit with a perforated outer cutter. An inner cutter is driven to move in hair shearing engagement with the outer cutter. The skin stretcher comprises a skin contact elongated along the periphery of the outer cutter and a base through which the skin contact is held on the shaving head. A macro displacement structure is provided to allow the skin contact to be movable within a macro displacement range relative to the shaver body. The skin contact is made from an elastic material capable of being elastically deformed within a micro displacement range relative to the base. With the combination of the macro and micro displacements of the skin contact, the skin contact can be kept in contact with the skin of a user in conformity with various contours of the skin.

  • Patent number: 5920106
Abstract: A semiconductor pressure detection device includes a diaphragm formed at a portion of a P- conductivity type semiconductor substrate having a reduced thickness. Gauge resistors are formed on the surface of an N- conductivity type semiconductor layer formed on the substrate. An N+ conductivity type diffusion layer is formed in the N- conductivity type semiconductor layer to fix the electric potential of the N- conductivity type layer. The first conductivity type area surrounds the diaphragm. Therefore, when the N- conductivity type area is supplied with electric potential, the potential gradient in the N- conductivity type layer is small. Thus, the leakage current which flows to a pn junction between the gauge resistors and the N- conductivity type area is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5781141
Abstract: A digital-to-analog converter includes an R-2R resistive ladder network having resistors connected in a ladder form in correspondence with a number of bits of a digital input signal. The R-2R resistive ladder network has an output terminal. A pair of positive and negative dc-power-supply terminals are connected to the R-2R resistive ladder network. Currents flowing between the R-2R resistive ladder network and one of the positive and negative dc-power-supply terminals are controlled in response to the bits of the digital input signal to generate an analog voltage signal at the output terminal of the R-2R resistive ladder network. The analog voltage signal depends on the digital input signal. A first resistor and a second resistor located outside the R-2R resistive ladder network are connected in series between the positive and negative dc-power-supply terminals.
