  • Patent number: 6552999
Abstract: In an asynchronous transfer mode network (401), a network controller (404) is connected to terminal equipment units (406) through logic transmission line circuits (408) so as to receive a call signal which includes a parameter representative of a network class and which is produced by one of the terminal equipment units. Each of the terminal equipment units is connected to one of ATM exchangers (402) each of which is connected to at least one of them. The control network controller is connected to the ATM exchangers through logic transmission line circuits (405) so as to order them to admit a connection required by the call signal.

  • Patent number: 6226263
Abstract: In an ATM network, a data base is provided in a network controller for holding data pertaining to network topology and remaining network resource. The controller has a supervisory circuit that constantly monitors communication links between ATM switches. Route decision and resource reservation logic circuitry updates the data base if a network fault condition is detected by the supervisory circuit also. The logic circuitry receives, from a source terminal, a reservation request indicating a reservation of an end-to-end network resource between a scheduled start time and a scheduled end time, and makes a search through the data base to reserve the network resource in the data base if the network resource is available.

  • Patent number: 6192402
Abstract: A network management system, in a network having a plurality of agents and a manager for controlling management objects of the plurality of agents which are respectively connected by a logical communication channel, wherein the plurality of agents are respectively provided with a function of an acting manager receiving the management objects of the other agents as well as sending them to the manager, and the manager is provided with a function of controlling the management objects of an agent incapable of communication, through the mediation of the other agent working as the acting manager, when the manager fails to communicate with the agent because a fault has occurred on the logical communication channel and destroyed the communication.

  • Patent number: 5891261
Abstract: A method of stripping a strippable coating film formed on a substrate from the substrate, which method comprises either (i) spraying a hot water or water vapor at a predetermined temperature onto a strippable coating film having a surface temperature lower than 15.degree. C. for heating, or (ii) spraying a cold water or water vapor at a predetermined temperature onto a strippable coating film having a surface temperature higher than 35.degree. C. for cooling, so that the resulting surface temperature may be controlled in the range of 15 to 35.degree. C. respectively, followed by stripping the resulting strippable coating film respectively.

  • Patent number: 4816158
Abstract: A method for treating waste water from a catalytic petroleum cracking unit is disclosed. The method includes receiving step, aeration step, settling step, and a discharging step. In the receiving step waste water from which hydrogen sulfide and ammonium have been stripped out is introduced into a biological treatment tank. In the aeration step, the waste water in the tank is subjected to aeration for a predetermined period of time. In the settling step, activated sludge within the biological treatment tank is settled for a predetermined period of time. And in the discharging step, the supernatant is discharged from the tank subsequent to the settling step. The total duration of the aeration step performed daily is set to no longer than 12 hours and the aeration step is performed intermittently. If these conditions are met, yeasts which form pseudohyphae will grow actively enough to facilitate settling and separation of activated sludge.
