  • Patent number: 4827897
Abstract: In a fuel pump driving apparatus for a vehicle engine including a fuel injection system, the selection of a plurality of energizing circuits each formed by the combination of two or all of three brushes of a fuel pump drive motor is effected in accordance with the load conditions of the engine, thereby changing the rotational speed of the motor and hence the fuel quantity delivered from the fuel pump. When the occurrence of a fault in one of the energizing circuits is detected, the driver is informed of the occurrence of the fault and in addition a faulty-condition controller controls switching means in such a manner that the drive motor is energized through another one of the energizing circuits.

  • Patent number: 4821726
Abstract: An electronic fuel injection device for pumping fuel to an internal-combustion engine by using the expansion-contraction characteristics of a piezoelectric device. The electronic fuel injection device has a pump member integrally formed and having a number of pistons corresponding to the number of cylinders of the associated internal-combustion engine, and a single actuator for driving the pump member. Accordingly, the same pressure is generated in all of the pump chambers when the pump member is driven by the actuator for each fuel injection cycle. Each pump chamber is connected to a fuel feed passage connected to a fuel tank and to a fuel injection passage connected to a fuel injection nozzle, and is filled with the fuel. The pump chambers are pressurized uniformly to distribute the fuel uniformly to the cylinders regardless of the passage characteristics of the fuel injection passages.

  • Patent number: 4753206
Abstract: In a fuel injection control system for an internal combustion engine, a basic fuel amount is determined in accordance with detected values of intake air pressure and rotational speed of the engine. The detected value of the intake air pressure is averaged by a predetermined averaging function to infer temperature of air flowing into a cylinder of the engine. The basic fuel amount is corrected by the inferred temperature, more specifically, by the difference between the detected value of the intake air pressure and the averaged value of the same so that undesired change in air-fuel ratio resulting from comparatively slow change in temperature of air flowing into engine cylinder upon acceleration and deceleration of the engine is compensated for.

  • Patent number: 4744367
Abstract: An ultrasonic diagnosis apparatus comprises a probe for transmitting an ultrasonic beam toward a body having a blood vessel therein and a plurality of receiver circuits corresponding to sampling points of the body in a direction approximately perpendicular to the beam to produce respective intensities of reflected waves from the sampling points. A distribution of the reflected-wave intensities from the receiver circuits is measured at a predetermined interval of time. A shift between two successive intensity distributions thus measured is detected by a correlator, thereby determining a blood flow speed, in the blood vessel of the body, in the direction approximately perpendicular to the beam.

  • Patent number: 4653504
Abstract: A probe for use in an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus in which the acoustic impedance of a liquid medium put between the oscillator and the living body is made equal to that of the casing having the medium sealed therein, by using a low molecular weight polymer product of chlorotrifluoroethylene as the liquid medium. • Patent number: 4649745
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a flow of intake air to an engine includes a bridge circuit including a heat resistor placed in an intake air path of the engine, a resistor for sensing the temperature of the intake air, and a plurality of balance resistors. A heating current is supplied to this bridge circuit through a transistor controlled by a periodical current-passage control signal generated by a microcomputer. A signal Vh, representing a temperature change of the heat resistor heated by the heating current, is detected by the microcomputer. A first correction value is computed by using a difference between the detected value from the microcomputer and a signal Vho, representing temperature of the heat resistor when the bridge circuit is balanced at normal temperature. A time width correction value .DELTA.Do1 is computed from a table on the basis of the first correction value. The correction signal .DELTA.Do1 is used for correcting the current passage time.
