Abstract: In a method for producing a magnetic recording medium, at least one magnetic layer is formed on a nonmagnetic support by coating. After all coating processes are completed, heat treatment is performed by heat-treating the support, which is undergone all the coating processes, at 95 to 140° C. for 1.0 to 10.0 seconds with continuously applying tension of from 1.0 to 4.0 kg/m to the support. Then, calendering process is performed at a temperature lower than the temperature of the heat treatment.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing magnetic recording media with which high speed magnetic-layer coating and heating of the resultant magnetic layer can be performed without deformation and curling of the web due to thermal contraction under high temperature conditions, thereby to obtain an improved production efficiency. In accordance with the invention, immediately before the surface of a flexible strip-like support is coated with a magnetic coating liquid, the flexible strip-like support is heated at 90.degree. to 120.degree. C. during running of the support while being subjected to a tension of 5 to 12 kg/m.

Abstract: In the production of a photographic material by applying a coating composition to a continuously moving support, cold-setting the coating and drying the coating, an additive in the coating composition (e.g., a hardening agent or an antistatic agent), either partly or completely, is atomized by ultrasonic vibration, and supplied to the coating formed on the continuously moving support. Alternatively, the atomized additive is first supplied to the surface of a continuously moving support, and before the coating is completely dried, the coating composition is applied thereto.
