  • Publication number: 20010024551
Abstract: An optical transceiver 1 comprises a receiver optical sub-module 4, a transmitter optical sub-module 2, and a housing 6 to accommodate these modules. The receiver optical sub-module 4 has a light receiving element, and a receiver electronic circuit substrate 47. The transmitter optical sub-module 2 has a light emitting element, and a transmitter electronic circuit substrate 27. The housing 6 has a receptacle part 61 with which an optical connector is engaged. The receiver electronic circuit substrate 47 and the transmitter electronic circuit substrate 27 are disposed opposite to each other.

  • Patent number: 6239427
Abstract: A housing for mounting a subassembly having outer lead pins, which is an optical module having a light-receiving device or light-emitting device, is configured such that the outer lead pins are positioned and secured at their predetermined positions while penetrating through the housing, thereby yielding a structure for easily assembling the subassembly, while the configuration of the housing and its manufacturing process are simplified. The structure for positioning by penetration includes a through hole having securing means, guide grooves provided so as to correspond to the respective outer lead pins, and the like. Also, an electric shield can be constructed when the housing is provided with conductive plating, a thin metal sheet, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6234686
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical data link having a structure which is quite easy to manufacture at a low cost and realizes high optical accuracy, high mechanical accuracy, and high reliability. This optical data link comprises a light-receiving module for outputting an optical signal from an optical fiber transmission line as an electric signal, and a light-emitting module for transmitting the optical signal to the optical fiber transmission line. Each of these optical modules comprises a body portion including an electronic device; a head portion including a light-receiving device or light-emitting device; and a neck portion, processed into a predetermined form, for communicating the body portion and head portion to each other. The optical modules are mounted on an insulating substrate, and are at least partly accommodated in a housing, while being separated from each other by a predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 5963693
Abstract: A light-emitting element is mounted on a first conversion element mounting portion prepared on a lead frame and resin-molded by using a mold. In this case, a focusing lens whose optical axis coincides with the major surface of the light-emitting element and a coupling portion in which a sleeve is fitted are integrally molded at once to mold a transmission section and an electronic circuit section. When these member are fixed in housings, and a ferrule holding an optical fiber is inserted in the sleeve fitted in a recess portion of the coupling portion, the optical fiber is optically coupled to the major surface of the light-emitting element. At this time, when the distal end portion of the sleeve is brought into contact with the abutment portion in the coupling portion, the end face of the optical fiber always coincides with the major surface of the light-emitting element, thereby realizing reliable optical axis alignment.

  • Patent number: 5109454
Abstract: A light communication apparatus having a plurality of light communication apparatus units buried therein. Photo-connector receptacles of the light communication apparatus units are integrally formed with a coupling member to form a multi-core photo-receptacle. The multi-core photo receptacle is formed so that no jig is necessary to position each photo-connector receptacle.
