    Abstract: A balancing device which may be used in an industrial robot includes a feed screw for moving a robot arm in one direction. The arm and its associated mechanisms impart a torque to the screw which is a load on the drive motor. A balancing feed screw is connected to the main screw and, under the influence of a controlled pressure fluid driven piston, serves to balance the load.
