  • Patent number: 5157872
Abstract: A control apparatus for controlling the amount of grinding of a belt material in a grinding machine wherein, for example, in the production process of making belts, a cylindrical belt material is ground on its back to finish its thickness to a standard dimension. The controlling apparatus is provided with a feed apparatus for feeding either the grinding member or the work to be ground to force it into contact with the other, a cam apparatus for regulating the feed stepwise up to the preset maximum feed position, and a thickness presetting means for presetting the final thickness of the work to be ground in the maximum feed position of the grinding member controlled by said cam apparatus. The control apparatus is capable of grinding reliably a work to be ground to a preset thickness, and the finishing thickness of the work to be ground can be altered with ease.

  • Patent number: 5129810
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a mold ejecting apparatus for ejecting an inner mold from a cylindrical molding, e.g. a cylindrical rubber molding, sticking to the outer circumference of the inner mold, or for ejecting the cylindrical rubber molding from the inner mold. A plurality of small holes are formed through the circumferential wall of the inner mold, and a pressurized fluid feed line is connected to an opening in one end face of the inner mold to introduce a pressurized fluid into the hollow interior of the inner mold. A plurality of matching members are movable to contact or come close to the outer circumference of the inner mold and match with an end face of the molding, the matching members being movable towards and away from the outer circumference of the inner mold. A pressing apparatus is provided for moving the molding relative to the matching members and the inner mold and separating them.

  • Patent number: 5062780
Abstract: Vulcanization apparatus to vulcanize, with the heat and pressure of a fluid, a molding of rubber belt material (before being cut crosswise into the final products) while the molding is being held intact over the external circumference of a hollow cylindrical mold. A steaming jacket is provided into which the mold with the molding sticking intact thereto is inserted. The steaming jacket comprises a rubber sleeve on the interior of a cylindrical casing and secured and sealed at upper and lower axial ends of the rubber sleeve against the casing. The sleeve is swelled inwardly when heated high pressure fluid is passed through an internal space between the casing and the sleeve. The vulcanization apparatus is provided with steam supply and discharge pipes for the internal space of the jacket and steam supply and discharge pipes for the mold inserted into the jacket.

  • Patent number: 5061339
Abstract: A molding machine for rubber belt production that is used in the production of rubber belts mainly for power transmission, to wind canvas, cords, rubber sheet, etc. around a mold. In the molding machine, a plurality of supporting machines each capable of supporting a mold disconnectably and rotatably around the central axis of the mold are mounted on a horizontally rotatable rotary table at a fixed radial distance from the center of rotation of the table. Each supporting machine is arranged to be capable of tilting a mold between a position wherein the central axis of the mold is lateral and a position wherein the central axis is vertical. This molding machine is capable of executing molding on one mold supported by one supporting machine while exchanging a mold of another supporting machine of which molding is completed with a new mold.

  • Patent number: 4941294
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a grinding machine which, in the production of toothed belts, grinds the back surface of a molded and vulcanized cylindrical belt material (also called a slab) to finish the belt material thickness to the specified dimension before the belt material is cut into belts of a desired width. The grinding machine includes a rotary support wherein a belt material to be ground is held between a work roll having a large diameter and an idler shaft having a smaller diameter, and is arranged to face a grinding belt over the contact wheel of a belt grinder in such a way that they may be brought towards and away from each other.
