Patent number: 8807391Abstract: A paint cartridge includes a baggy tank having a dual structure formed by an inner bag and an outer bag in a cylindrical body. Inside the inner bag is a paint chamber. Between the outer bag and the cylindrical body, an extruding liquid flows. A detector provided in the space between the inner bag and the outer bag is visually observable from outside the cylindrical body. In the detector, a pattern formed by using one or more materials changes due to contact with paint which leaks when the inner bag has broken or with extruding liquid which leaks when the outer bag has broken. In consequence, it is possible to detect the breakage of the inner bag and the outer bag by visually observing a change in the detector's pattern from the outside.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2010Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: ABB K.K.Inventor: Toshio Onda

Publication number: 20120103850Abstract: A paint cartridge (21) is formed by a baggy tank (23) and a tank accommodating cylindrical body (22) formed of a transparent hollow tubular body. The baggy tank (23) is provided in the tank accommodating cylindrical body (22) as a dual structure formed by an inner bag (28) and an outer bag (29). A paint chamber (30) inside the inner bag (28) is connected to a feed tube (14), and an extruding liquid flows into and out of an extruding liquid chamber (32) between the outer bag (29) and the tank accommodating cylindrical body (22). A detector (33) which is visually observable from outside the tank accommodating cylindrical body (22) is provided on the inner bag (28) and the outer bag (29) of the baggy tank (23). As this detector (33), a material is used whose shape, pattern, or hue changes due to contact with the paint which leaks when the inner bag (28) has broken or the extruding liquid which leaks when the outer bag (29) has broken.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2010Publication date: May 3, 2012Applicant: ABB K.K.Inventor: Toshio Onda

Patent number: 8157190Abstract: There is provided an air atomizing type coating apparatus which is constituted by a main body (2) having a first feed tube passage hole (6) extended forward from a cartridge mount portion (5), a passage change-over mechanism (11) attached to the front side of the main body (2) to change over positions of a second feed tube passage hole (14) and a second wash fluid passage (15), a spray nozzle (22) attached on the front side of the passage change-over mechanism (11), and a paint cartridge (30) to be set in the cartridge mount portion (5). Upon shifting the passage change-over mechanism (11) to a coating position, the first and second feed tube passage holes (6) and (14) are brought into communication with each other, a coating operation can be performed by inserting a paint cartridge (30).Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2007Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: ABB K.K.Inventor: Toshio Onda

Patent number: 7931171Abstract: A tank base (12) is formed of a mount block (13) and a feed tube (16), and a first paint passage (17) is provided internally through the feed tube (16). A baggy tank (19) is composed of a support member (20) and a bag member (21) having opposite ends thereof securely fixed to the support member (20) to define a paint chamber (22) therein. A second paint passage (23) is provided in a fore end portion (20A) of the support member (20). A tank accommodating case (25) is provided to accommodate the bag member (21). The baggy tank (19) is set in position within the tank accommodating case (25) with opposite ends of the support member (20) gripped between the mount block (13) of the tank base (12) and the tank accommodating case (25), bringing the paint chamber (22) into communication with the first paint passage (17) through the second paint passage (23).Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2007Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: ABB K.K.Inventors: Takehiro Hamamura, Toshio Onda
