  • Publication number: 20050060341
Abstract: An e-mail management server receives an e-mail destined to a portable terminal, which has an attachment file attached, separates the e-mail to the text and the attachment file, stores the attachment file, adds the address of the attachment file, and sends it to the portable terminal. When the portable terminal writes the e-mail (text and URL) to a recording medium, and a first printer or a second printer reads the e-mail from the recording medium and sends the address to the e-mail management server, the e-mail management server controls the first printer or the second printer to obtain image data that represents the attachment file. The first printer or the second printer obtains the image data, determines the number of sheets to be printed and printing fee, carries out printing, and carries out charging of the printing fee towards the user.

  • Publication number: 20050010646
Abstract: An e-mail management server receives an e-mail, destined to a portable terminal, that has an attachment file attached, separates the e-mail to text and attachment file, and stores the attachment file. Then, a URL of the attachment file is added to the text and sent to the portable terminal. Receiving instructions for printing the attachment file and URL of the attachment file from the portable terminal, the e-mail management server reads the attachment file that the URL indicates, converts it to an image data that can be printed by the printer, and sends it to the printer. In a case where there is an instruction to transmit a facsimile of an attachment file from the portable terminal, the e-mail management server sets the sending destination of the image data to the facsimile server.

  • Patent number: 5951106
Abstract: A vehicle front seat of the kind capable of being selectively rotated into a forward position or rearward position has a turntable unit or rotation adjusting mechanism provided between the seat and a vehicle floor. The rotation adjusting mechanism includes a stationary circular guide and a rotating disk disposed inside the stationary guide. The rotating disk is provided with a latching arm having an engagement tooth. The stationary guide has a locking through hole for engagement with the engagement tooth of the latching arm. A cam is disposed inside the locking through hole and capable of contacting the engagement tooth inserted into the locking through hole. The cam is rotatable in response to movement of the engagement tooth. An amount of rotation of the cam is detected by a microswitch. The cam is provided with first and second circular arc cam surfaces and capable of absorbing possible errors in attached positions of the constituent parts of the rotation adjusting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4943128
Abstract: A mirror surface for deflecting an incident light beam is inclined to the axis of rotation and rotated for scanning the light beam. The incident light beam is applied to the mirror surface along the axis of rotation, and a reflected light beam is continuously deflected by the rotating mirror surface to scan a surface. When the incident light beam has an elliptical cross section in a direction normal to its optical axis, the cross-sectional shape of the reflected light beam varies due to the inclination of the mirror surface in response to rotation of the mirror surface. The varying shape of the reflected light beam obstructs proper reading and writing of an image with a light scanning device employing the above mirror surface. To avoid this problem, light beam shapers are provided in positions before and after the light beam is reflected by the mirror surface.

  • Patent number: 4147339
Abstract: An original sheet document for electrostatic reproduction is inserted into the mechanism face up, and the mechanism feeds and positions the document onto a glass platen face down. Endless belts are trained over pulleys forming a plurality of parallel runs which are disposed closely above the platen. Idler feed rollers are disposed above the pulleys which feed the document into engagement with a guide member which reverses the direction of movement of the document by 180.degree. and guides the document between the belts and the platen. The belts are oriented at an angle to the edges of the platen and move the document both forwardly and laterally across the platen. Elongated stops are provided at the edges of the platen toward which the document is moved by the belts, and the document aligningly abuts against the stops. The belts are arranged to yield upon said abutment. The stop at the forward edge is movable to allow the belts to move the document off the platen onto a receiving tray.
