    Abstract: An information processing apparatus is capable of connecting a plurality of types of printers including an ink-jet printer. The apparatus includes a detector, a connecting device, a counter, a discrimination section and an ejection recovery controller. The detector detects that a power supply of the apparatus is turned on. The connector electrically connects a printer. The counter measures an inactive period of the printer connected to the connector. The discrimination section discriminates a type of printer connected to the connector. The ejection recovery controller causes, when the discrimination section discriminates an ink-jet printer, the printer to execute ejection recovery processing when the detector detects that the power supply is turned on, and when the counter measures a predetermined inactive period.

    Abstract: An information processing system inputs information by touching the surface of a touch panel provided on the screen of a CRT display. This apparatus includes a mode setting device to set the cleaning mode of the touch panel on the screen of the CRT display, and an input controller to set an input inhibition area of information on the touch panel when the cleaning mode is set. An inhibition area display device displays on the screen of the CRT display that the information input inhibition area is set on the touch panel by the input controller, and an inhibition area changing device changes the input inhibition area set by the input controller on the touch panel. With this apparatus, the cleaning mode can be set or cancelled on the screen of the CRT display even in the cleaning mode. The touch panel can be cleaned without causing an erroneous input due to touching the touch panel during the cleaning.

A drain tube extending through the bottom cover of the valve body and the bottom wall of the reducing chamber connects the lower end of the sleeve valve to the bottom wall to prevent the vibration of the valve.

    Abstract: A cylindrical valve body for a sleeve valve including the valve body to be secured to the upper wall of a reducing chamber and a valve cylinder gate having open upper and lower ends and slidably fitted in the valve body, the gate communicating at its upper end with an inlet elbow for pressurized water. The valve body is formed in its peripheral wall with a multiplicity of straight bores each having a cylindrical nozzle member fixedly fitted therein and provided with an outwardly tapered port. This construction renders the tapered ports easy to form in the wall of the valve body. The tapered port is closable with a plug including a conical head in conformity with the tapered port and a threaded pin projecting from the top end of the head by inserting the plug into the port and screwing a nut on the threaded pin. By altering the number of the tapered ports so closed, the distribution of open ports is variable to improve the flow ratio characteristics of the valve body.
