  • Publication number: 20050007728
Abstract: An IC card reader comprising a contact head holding body which is given a force in the card discharge direction and makes contact with an IC card at the insertion of the card. The card reader also comprises a card latch lever that is operated between an open mode, in which an IC card can be inserted and removed, and a closed mode, in which an IC card cannot be inserted or removed; an operating arm for moving the card latch lever and for holding the card latch lever in the closed mode; and an operating lever for moving the operating arm. The card latch lever enters the closed mode with the movements of the operating lever and the operating arm after an IC card is inserted to a predetermined position. The contact head holding body and the operating lever are connected with each other so that the operating lever moves synchronously with the movement of the contact head holding body.

  • Publication number: 20040262389
Abstract: An IC card reader holding an IC card by using an IC contact block and a card receiving member at a data communication position, and preventing a sudden increase in load when inserting the card. A card receiving member (13) is entirely or partially moved in a card carriage direction together with an IC card (5) when inserting or removing the IC card (5), and the IC card (5) is received and supported from a rear surface side thereof when at least IC contact springs (11) are in contact with a surface of the IC card (5), thereby suppressing a sudden increase in insertion load in the middle of the card insertion operation.

  • Patent number: 6659348
Abstract: A manual IC card reader has a recess at a frame constructing a card insertion slot in the card insertion direction for inserting and removing a card. The card insertion slot is configured to project an IC contact block toward a card pathway as the IC contact block comes in and then let the card be removed after data communication rolling elements in a free rotational condition provided in a front vicinity of a card stop position in the card direction to reduce an insertion load on the IC card when the IC card projects the IC contacts block toward the card pathway.
