Patent number: 7812242Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to providing a musical tone control device for carrying out appropriate control in user-performed operations. A pitch parameter value PB set by a pitch bend wheel may be loaded and a determination may be made whether the pitch parameter value PB is within a specified range. If the pitch parameter value PB is within the specified range, a time t may advance by 1, and a determination may be made whether the time t has reached t1. If the time t has reached t1, an amplitude value from a low frequency oscillator (LFO) table corresponding to the time t may be read out from the LFO table. The vibrato value VI may be calculated by multiplying the amplitude value and the vibrato depth. The pitch parameter value PB and the vibrato value VI may be added and transmitted to the sound source.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2008Date of Patent: October 12, 2010Assignee: Roland CorporationInventors: Toshio Yamabata, Taro Umemoto, Hiroyuki Yasunaga

Patent number: 6762358Abstract: A waveform reproduction apparatus and process for carrying out waveform reproduction without delays. Waveform data expressing first and latter half portions of a musical tone waveform are stored on a storage device. In response to a tone generation start indicator, waveform data that express first half portions corresponding to the tone generation start indicator are successively read out and corresponding musical tone waveforms are formed. Following this, the waveform data that express latter half portions corresponding to the tone generation start indicator are successively read out and corresponding musical tone waveforms are formed.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2003Date of Patent: July 13, 2004Assignee: Roland CorporationInventors: Akira Iguchi, Toshio Yamabata

Patent number: 5763805Abstract: A performance information transmission system includes a performance information transmitter device and a performance information receiver device which are capable of correcting transmission errors in event information transmitted from the performance information transmitter device to the performance information receiver through a wire or radio communication. This correction does not require another transmission passes, cause a delay of the generation of the musical tone, or cause difficulties in restoring the burst error. The performance information transmitter device is equipped with state information generating device which generates state information for indicating the control state of a musical tone of a predetermined musical tone after a change has occurred in the event information. A transmit device transmits sequentially the event information and the state information generated by the state information generating device.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: June 9, 1998Assignee: Roland CorporationInventors: Toshio Yamabata, Minoru Fujisawa

Patent number: 5295123Abstract: First tune information of playing information is read out from playing information storage means to a selected one of predetermined positions and then a selected one of a plurality of pieces of second tune information is read out without incurring the possibility of introducing discontinuity or unnaturalness between musical sounds reproduced from the first tune information and the second tune information. The predetermined positions on the first tune information are made to correspond to the plurality of pieces of second tune information, and control means is provided for controlling tune information read means so that when the first tune information has been read out to the selected one of the predetermined positions respectively corresponding to the plurality of pieces of second tune information, that one of the pieces of second tune information corresponding to the selected predetermined position is automatically read out.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1991Date of Patent: March 15, 1994Assignee: Roland CorporationInventors: Kazuyuki Seri, Mineyuki Noda, Toshio Yamabata

Patent number: 5212676Abstract: A performance information recording/playing apparatus corrects recording/playing errors in performance information which is reproduced from or recorded to a recording media by a performance information playing/(recording) device in accordance with event information. The performance information recording device includes a state information generating device which generates state information indicating a state of musical tone for a predetermined musical tone after a change has occurred in event information which represents a change in the predetermined musical tone, and a recording device for recording the event information and the state information in a recording media sequentially. The performance information playing device includes a playing device for playing event information which represents a change in a predetermined musical tone and state information which indicates a state of a musical tone for the predetermined musical tone, this information having recorded in a recording media.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1991Date of Patent: May 18, 1993Assignee: Roland CorporationInventors: Toshio Yamabata, Satoshi Otsuka, Mitsuhiro Umeta, Fumio Rokkaku, Takenori Yamamori, Minoru Fujisawa, Koji Hara
