    Abstract: The present invention provides an electrocasting method by which the shape of the surface opposite to the surface to be electrodeposited on the mold can be controlled. A molded metal article is electrocast by forming an insulating layer on the side wall faces of a cavity and the outer wall face of a conductive mold in which the cavity is formed, placing the mold in an electrolysis tank and applying voltage, electrodepositing metal on the bottom face of the cavity, and growing the metal layer in the cavity so as to leave a space having a height of at least one-third the width of the cavity.

This humidity-regulating apparatus includes a solid adsorptive material, an air heater, an air blowing means, and an air circulation route for circulating inside and outside air through the air heater and the solid adsorptive material, in that sequence. The solid adsorptive material may be formed as a fixed bed, and inside air and outside air are alternately circulated through the fixed bed. In one preferred embodiment, the above-mentioned humidity-regulating apparatus is assembled in multiple in the refrigerating unit, wherein in each of the humidity-regulating apparatuses the solid adsorptive material is formed as a fixed bed, and inside air and outside air are alternately circulated through the fixed bed in each humidity-regulating apparatus.

The refrigerating apparatus of the present invention can regularly effect defrosting even if any anomaly should arise in the evaporator outlet refrigerant temperature detector. Specifically, the overheating preventing temperature detector is connected to the defrosting control device, and a detection temperature signal from either the evaporator outlet refrigerant temperature detector of the overheating preventing temperature detector is used to commence and terminate defrosting.

    Abstract: In the self testing refrigerator disclosed, a controller normally controls the operation of various electrical devices, such as a compressor, a blower, and an electric heater by actuating and deactuating separate relays from the power source to each of the devices. During self testing, a switch arrangement disconnects the power source supply and substitutes a high voltage dc generator having a series resistor. The same controller that controls the refrigeration operation of the devices automatically actuates the aforementioned relays separately and successively to apply the high voltage across the terminals of the electric devices and ground. The voltage across the resistor indicates the current flow through, and hence the integrity of, the insulation in each of the devices.

The high pressure sensor or the low pressure sensor is regarded as defective when the difference between the two pressures detected falls outside a tolerance range. In one embodiment an analyzer compares the pressures to produce a signal indicating failure when the pressure difference falls outside the tolerance range.
