  • Patent number: 6030839
Abstract: Preparations are made of a characteristic curve of conductivity showing the relationship between sodium concentration in alcohol and conductivity of alcohol as observed at a predetermined temperature and a temperature correction curve showing the change in conductivity per unit degree centigrade of alcohol temperature versus; sodium concentration in alcohol; the corrected conductivity of a sample alcohol is determined by measuring the conductivity and temperature of the sample alcohol simultaneously and subjecting the measured conductivity to temperature correction according to the above temperature correction curve; and then the sodium concentration in the sample alcohol is determined on the basis of the corrected conductivity thus obtained. Thus, the change in sodium concentration in alcohol can be measured and monitored continuously and accurately.

  • Patent number: 5013519
Abstract: An autonomous, decentralized fast breeder reactor includes a single reactor main vessel which houses a plurality of small-size reactor subsystems each having a small-scale fast breeder reactor core, and a plurality steam generator subsystems. These subsystems function in an autonomous manner and are caused to undergo a heat transfer with one another by a coolant circulating naturally through the interior of the main vessel, thereby constructing a cooperatively operating system. Steam generated by the steam generators is introduced to a turbine system and utilized in generating electricity. The condensate from the turbines is cooled by a heat accumulating pool, and the heat is utilized in a separate system. The entire system is installed underground and use is made of the difference in elevation. Use also is made of solid bedrock to construct a housing facility for the reactor.

  • Patent number: 4470269
Abstract: An absorption refrigeration system utilizing solar heat including an absorption cold and warm water system and a solar heat collector unit. Heating and cooling of an enclosure are performed by the absorption cold and warm water system, and the solar heat collector unit can be switched to allow warm water obtained by heating water by solar heat to flow to a low temperature heat source generator in a cooling mode and to an evaporator in a heating mode.
