Abstract: A skin irritation alleviation agent composed of a polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane is provided. Various compositions including skin external application compositions, cosmetic or similar compositions (e.g., an adhesive composition for a false eyelash, a decolorant composition, a depilatory composition, and an eyeliner composition) containing a polyoxyalkylene-modified organosiloxane are also provided. This alleviation agent has a low skin irritation effect and extremely high safety factor when used on the human body.

Abstract: A halogen group solvent comprising a mixed solvent consisting essentially of bromochloromethane and/or 1,2-dichloroethylene and a co-solvent, wherein the co-solvent is at least one member selected from the group consisting of carbon dioxide, sulfur hexafluoride, difluorochloromethane, 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, etc., and the content of said co-solvent in the mixed solvent is 3 to 65% by weight; a polyolefin solution using the solvent; and a process for producing a three-dimensional fiber of a polyolefin using the solution.

Abstract: A water-in-oil type emulsified solid composition containing (a) an oil component such as a silicone oil, (b) a solid wax and/or an oil-gelling agent, (c) water, and (d) (i) a polyoxyalkylene modified organopolysiloxane or (ii) a lipophilic surfactant and a hydrophobically treated powder, wherein the water content is 5% by weight or more, based upon the total amount of the composition.

Abstract: A water-in-oil type emulsified composition containing a water-swellable clay mineral, a nonionic surfactant, an oil component, and water as the essential constituents or containing a water-swellable clay mineral, a quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant, one or two more kinds of polyoxyalkylene modified organopolysiloxane, an aqueous phase, and an oil phase containing one or two or more kinds of organic silicone resin comprising the units of the formula:RnSiO.sub.(4-n)/2wherein R is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, and n represents a value of 1.0 to 1.8, and a water- and polyhydric alcohol-in-oil type emulsified composition containing an oil phase containing a polyoxyalkylene modified organopolysiloxane, a water-swellable clay mineral, a quaternary ammonium salt type cationic surfactant and a silicone oil, water, and a polyhydric alcohol.

Abstract: A modified powder or particulate material coated on substantially the entire surface thereof with a film of a silicone polymer carrying a pendant group thereon, this powder or particulate material being produced by a process comprising the steps of(a) coating the powder or particulate material with a film of a silicone polymer having at least one Si-H moiety, and(b) carrying out an addition reaction of a compound capable of reacting with an Si--H moiety to the Si--H moiety in the silicone polymer of step (a), whereby the pendant group derived from said compound is bonded to the silicone polymer.
