  • Publication number: 20030106638
Abstract: Upon adhering a film heater 3 to the surface of a heat-conducting plate 1 having a plate shape, first, liquid resin, applied to the surface of the heat-conducting plate 1, is dried and set to form an adhesive layer 2 (S1). Next, the film heater 3 and the heat-conducting plate 1 are placed face to face with each other with the adhesive layer 2 interpolated In between (S2). Successively, this is heated to a predetermined temperature, while applying a predetermined pressure thereto so as to bond the film heater 3 and the heat-conducting plate 1 to each other (S3). Thereafter, a coating process is applied to the film heater 3 (S4). That way, the present invention enables to make a temperature-controlling plate thinner and capable of exerting high performances. Moreover, a heat-conducting plate and a film heater are positively bonded to each other with sufficient strength.

  • Patent number: 5874707
Abstract: A processing torch having a separably assembled torch base and torch head includes a first ring member rotatably provided on an outer periphery of one of the torch base and the torch head, and a second ring member fixed on the other one of the torch base and the torch head. An engaging projection is provided on one of the first and second ring members, and an inclined track provided on the other of the first and second ring members for engaging with the engaging projection. In addition, an elastic biasing member is provided for increasing an engaging force between the inclined track and the engaging projection so as to sealingly engage the inclined track and the engaging projection. Connection and disconnection between the torch base and the torch head are performed by rotation of at least one of the first and second ring members.

  • Patent number: 5628924
Abstract: A plasma arc torch is provided which has a very long electrode lifetime, even if the number of times that an arc is generated and stopped is great. Improper electric discharge can be effectively prevented, and the lifetime can be increased due to the excellent resistance to heat. For this purpose, a metallic layer is provided in the portion where a pilot arc is generated, and the metallic layer contains at least one metal selected from the group consisting of gold and silver. The metallic layer is provided on the surface of the electrode holder, or on both of a surface of the electrode holder and a surface of the nozzle. Further, at least one of the electrode holder and the nozzle can be formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and after the formation, an anodic oxide film can be formed on the surface thereof.

  • Patent number: 4706616
Abstract: A cylinder liner mounted within an internal combustion engine cylinder block has a coating of a wear and seizure resistant material such as a ceramic applied to the inside surface of its upper portion. The inside surface of the cylinder liner lower portion, which is subject to lower temperatures than is the upper portion, has a coating of a commercially available surface treatment composition composed principally of manganous phosphote. The use of this surface treatment composition makes the inside surface treatment of the cylinder liners significantly less expensive without adversely affecting the engine performance than if the complete inside surface is coated with the wear and seizure resistant material.

  • Patent number: 4168737
Abstract: A heat exchange recuperator comprising a box-like housing having inlets and outlets for heating gases and gases to be heated, respectively, connecting plates mounted on a lower and an upper walls of said housing, and a plurality of hollow metallic plates disposed in spaced relation sandwiched by said connecting plates. The heating gases are adapted to pass through the spaces between said hollow plates and the gases to be heated are adapted to pass through said hollow plates. A plurality of generally U-shaped heat-resisting cover plates are detachably mounted on the upstream ends, with respect to the heating gases, of said each hollow plates, respectively, with defining spaces between the upstream ends of said hollow plates and inner walls of said cover plates.
