  • Patent number: 6521697
Abstract: To provide an un-sintered polytetrafluoroethylene processed article which has an un-sintered polytetrafluoroethylene layer formed by coating and/or impregnating with an aqueous dispersion of PTFE and is characterized in that a content of alkyl phenols detected from the un-sintered PTFE layer is not more than 0.1 ppm. The un-sintered PTFE-processed article scarcely contains alkyl phenols which are suspected as chemical substances having endocrine disrupting activity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 2001
Date of Patent: February 18, 2003
    Assignee: Dainkin Industries, Ltd.

  • Patent number: 6153688
Abstract: The present invention provides an aqueous polytetrafluoroethylene dispersion composition characterized in that the composition comprises 30 to 65 wt. % of polytetrafluoroethylene and a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether in an amount of 2 to 10 wt. % based on the polytetrafluoroethylene, the polyoxyethylene alkyl ether being represented by the formulaRO(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O)nHwherein R is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group having 8 to 18 carbon atoms, and n is 5 to 18, having a cloud point of over 45.degree. C. to not higher than 85.degree. C. and containing 65 to 70 wt. % of ethylene oxide in the molecule.

  • Patent number: 6136893
Abstract: To provide the method for concentrating an aqueous dispersion of fluorine-containing polymer particles containing a surfactant, which is applicable to a fluorine-containing polymer such as PTFE being easily fibrilated and assures low energy, low cost and short term concentration only by using various kinds of surfactants in a small amount. The method for concentrating an aqueous dispersion of fluorine-containing polymer particles containing the surfactant by feeding the aqueous dispersion of fluorine-containing polymer particles containing the surfactant in an amount of 2.0 to 8.0% by weight based on a solid content of the fluorine-containing polymer to a micro filtration membrane having a pore size of 0.01 to 1 .mu.m with aqueous dispersion feeding means which does not substantially generate shearing force and then removing an aqueous medium containing the surfactant from the aqueous dispersion.

  • Patent number: 5750606
Abstract: An aqueous fluorine-containing polymer dispersion, which comprises a fluorine-containing polymer, a nonionic surfactant and a preservative having at least one halogen atom on a carbon atom having an electron attractive group or a preservative having methylol group or methylene group and releasing formaldehyde, is provided. The above-mentioned dispersion is free of putrefying odor and suspended matters, is excellent in stability for a long period of time without pH decrease and does not generate any cissing and aggregation at the time of coating such as impregnation.
