  • Patent number: 7110702
Abstract: It has sometimes been the case that when a developing device becomes inverted with the rotation of a rotary, a developer in the developing device flows out in a great deal through a discharge port. So, the height of the ceiling of an agitating chamber is made great in an area near the discharge port, it has become possible to prevent the excessive discharge of the developer from the developing device.

  • Patent number: 6873822
Abstract: A sheet re-feeding path (32) is disposed substantially horizontally at a location below a fixing unit (14) and an image forming unit. At a location below the sheet re-feeding path (32), sheet decks (3, 4) are disposed horizontally along a sheet conveying direction in the sheet re-feeding path (32). Also, a drawing path (37) for switchbacking the sheet is disposed substantially horizontally between the sheet re-feeding path (32) and the sheet decks (3, 4). A sheet feeding path (7) for feeding the sheet from the sheet deck (3) disposed at an upstream side crosses the drawing path (37) to join to the sheet re-feeding path (32). Accordingly, a space, which is occupied by component parts or devices related to the conveyance of the sheet, can be made compact, whereby sheet capacity can be increased.

  • Patent number: 5743521
Abstract: A sheet thickness detecting device for detecting the thickness of a recording member precisely irrespective of accuracy of parts is disclosed. A state that a roller 1 of a pair of rollers 1, 2 is positioned at a predetermined angle of rotation, is detected by a flag 11 fixed to the axle of the roller 1 and a photosensor 12 for roller rotation angle detection. A signal from a photosensor 8 for roller pair axes distance detection is processed in accordance with a signal from the photosensor 12 to detect the thickness of a recording member P. In this device, the thickness of the recording member P is detected when the rollers 1, 2 are positioned at the predetermined angle of rotation. Thus, it can be detected accurately without being affected by eccentricities of the rollers 1, 2.
