  • Patent number: 5905479
Abstract: A coloring device for use, for example, in a color image display device, includes a rotary filter rotated by a motor and includes color filter sections of the three colors which pass over the screen of a monochromatic display device in a predetermined sequence as the rotary filter rotates. The coloring device may include two or more sets of color filter sections to enable reduction of the speed of rotation. For size reduction, a member to be detected, used for detection of the rotation of the rotary filter, may be provided on the rotor of the drive motor, or the filter assembly having the rotary filter may be directly mounted to the rotor of the motor. The rotary filter may be in the form of a disk or a cone. In the latter case, it is advantageous that the color filter sections are formed of a transparent base provided with filter sheets attached thereto or coatings having a transparency only to light of the respective color.

  • Patent number: 5734520
Abstract: A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus being able to use a normal-sized cassette and a small sized cassette according to a user's selection. The apparatus comprises a supply reel stand for engaging with a supply reel; a supply reel stand base for supporting the supply reel stand; a take-up reel stand for engaging with a take-up reel; a take-up reel stand base for supporting the take-up reel stand; a reel stand displacing mechanism for displacing the supply reel stand base and the take-up reel stand base according to a size of the normal-sized cassette and a size of the small sized cassette. The reel stand displacing mechanism displaces the supply reel stand base and the take-up reel stand base by using a drive force transmitted from the tape loading mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4985794
Abstract: A head drive for a rotary drum device comprising a plurality of yokes made of magnetic material and magnets housed in the yokes for forming a plurality of magnetic fluxes. A bobbin, comprising a first material surrounds the magnets and has a coil formed on the bobbin. The coil is covered with a second material. At least one circular, non-magnetic leaf spring having an inner periphery and an outer periphery and supported at the outer periphery or the inner periphery by at least one of the yokes and the magnetic means supports the coil. Fixing members, comprising a third material are positioned at the inner periphery of the leaf spring. This third material is positively dissolved and welded to at least one of the first material and the second material with a bonding solvent whereby the leaf spring supports the coil. A prolongation at a portion of the outer periphery of the leaf spring can support a magnetic head.

  • Patent number: 4930030
Abstract: An automatic tracking speed compensating drive unit 4a for a rotary drum VCR includes a deflection control coil 44 wound around a bobbin 43 mounted to a magnetic yoke assembly 47 by upper and lower spring plates 200, 100. The lower plate has a larger spring constant than the upper plate such that the "softer" upper plate absorbs substantially all thermally induced axial elongations of the bobbin, thereby avoiding tracking errors of a magnetic r/w head 5 mounted on a tab extending outwardly from the "stiffer" lower spring plate.
