Abstract: A print mode selecting unit configured to select a print mode based on user input to be either a normal print mode or a saving print mode including print settings associated with less paper consumption than the normal print mode, a document reading unit configured to read documents in a document containing unit and to generate read images, a document detecting unit configured to detect documents in the document containing unit, a confirmation window displaying unit configured to display a confirmation window having a mode change button based on a detection result from the document detecting unit, and an image forming unit configured to form output images from the read images based on the print mode. The confirmation window displaying unit determines whether the confirmation window is to be displayed based on the print mode, and the print mode selecting unit selects the normal print mode in response to an input through the mode change button.

Abstract: An image printing method to transmit a signal to an image printing device. The image printing device can be in either a normal print mode or a saving print mode, and maintains the selected print mode as standard mode information. The image printing method includes a step to obtain the standard mode information from the image printing device, a step to display a confirmation window including a print setting change button based on a user operation through a print start button while a print setting window including the print start button is displayed, a step to determine print settings for a print signal based on the standard mode information and a user operation through the print setting change button, and a step to generate the print signal including the determined print settings. The step to display the confirmation window determines whether the confirmation window is to be displayed or not based on the standard mode information.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a facsimile communication unit that transmits/receives data by being connected with a PSTN, a network communication unit that transmits/receives data by being connected with an area network, a memory that stores the data, a power supply that supplies power to components, and a determination unit that determines whether or not to release an energy-saving mode in which the power is supplied only to a portion of the components. When operating in the energy-saving mode, at least the facsimile communication unit, the network communication unit, the memory, and the determination unit are supplied with power. When the facsimile communication unit receives data when operating in the energy-saving mode, the received data is stored in the memory.
