Patent number: 8759681Abstract: A wire protective member (10) is provided for covering a wire (11) from an outer side. The wire protective member (10) has a first base (13) includes a first adhesive layer (12) to be bonded to the wire (11) on one surface thereof, a second base (16) to be placed on a surface of the first base (13) opposite to the one including the first adhesive layer (12), and spacers (14) formed between the first and second bases (13, 16). No clearance is formed between the wire (11) and the protective member (10) to achieve a space saving. Further, since it is sufficient to wrap the wire (11) with one member composed of the first adhesive layer (12), the first base (13), the layer partly formed with the spacers (14) and the second base (16), time and effort for a mounting operation and the number of parts can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2009Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Masayuki Doi, Toshitsugu Morii, Arisa Imatoku

Publication number: 20110021100Abstract: A binding tape 10 includes a base material 11 and an adhesive layer 12 that is made on a back side of the base material 11 which contacts an outer peripheral surface of the wire bundle W. The base material 11 is made up of a single sheet of fabric 20. The fabric 20 is made of knitted fabric that is knitted by use of warp yarn 21 and weft yarn 22, both of which are made from polyester fibers, by means of a warp-knitting weft insertion method. A thickness of the warp yarn 21 is 22 to 56 decitexes; a thickness of the weft yarn 22 is 440 decitexes or more; and a density of the warp yarn 21 is 10 to 30 wales/inch.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2010Publication date: January 27, 2011Applicants: SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., TOHKAI THERMO CO., LTD.Inventors: Masayuki DOI, Toshitsugu MORII, Tsutomu TANASE

Patent number: 7866612Abstract: A clamp (10) has a plate (12) with a harness-mounting part (11) to be fastened to a wire harness. Two spaced-apart stems (14) project from the plate (12). A spanning part (14) connects confronting portions of the stems (15) to form a cavity (18). A vane support (17) projects out from the end of each stem (15) and a vane (16) projects down and out from a tip of each vane support (17). A vehicle body-locking part (16a) formed at a tip of each vane (16). The spanning part (14) twists towards the cavity (18) when the wire harness is pulled in a withdrawal direction from the vehicle body to unlock the vehicle body-locking parts (16a) of the vanes (16) from the locking hole.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2007Date of Patent: January 11, 2011Assignee: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Masayuki Doi, Toshitsugu Morii, Shigeru Oyamada

Publication number: 20100236827Abstract: A protective tape (20) is composed of a three-layer base material (21) formed by bonding two knitted fabrics (22) by a glue (23) applied in dots, and an adhesive layer (24) formed on the underside of the base material (21). The base material (21) distributes an external load to the two knitted fabrics (22) for relaxing a stress. The protective tape (20) is difficult to abrade and also has a good hand cutting property. The protective tape (20) is wound spirally around the outer circumferential surface of a cable bundle (10) with lateral edges thereof overlapped while being dispensed from a roll (30), and the adhesive layer (24) on the underside is bonded to the outer circumferential surface of the cable bundle (10).Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2010Publication date: September 23, 2010Applicant: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Masayuki Doi, Toshitsugu Morii, Arisa Imatoku

Publication number: 20090014198Abstract: A corrugated tube has a slit (13) and first closing walls (14A) of circumferentially extending annular projections (12) are formed along the slit (13). Lock projections (16) dimensioned to be fitted inside the annular projections (12) are provided between the first closing walls (14A) and second closing walls (15A). The lock projections (16) are tapered toward the projecting ends thereof and clearances, into which the first closing walls (14A) are insertable are defined between the lock projections (16) and the second closing walls (15A). Out of the opposite ends (14, 15) of the annular projections (12), the ends corresponding to the first closing walls (14A) are fitted on the lock projections (16) to engage the first closing walls (14A) and the lock projections (16), thereby locking the slit (13) in a closed state.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2008Publication date: January 15, 2009Applicant: Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd.Inventors: Masataka Shimizu, Toshitsugu Morii, Koji Kobayashi, Masayuki Doi, Yasunori Okuoka
