  • Patent number: 6628420
Abstract: A cut-paper printing type facsimile apparatus can achieve saving in consumption of recording paper and shortening of printing time by using a simple method according to the present invention, which does not require an image storage device and, therefore, can be easily implemented in a popular type inexpensive facsimile apparatus to increase the efficiency of the apparatus with a reduced consumption of recording paper. A received image signal is expanded by a control device to a bit string of data to be printable as white-and-black dots. A signal indicating the end of one line is counted by a line counter of a memory device. Upon receipt of one transmitted page, the counted number of printed lines is compared with a preset specified value at which a cut-paper sheet must be delivered. If the counted value exceeds the preset value, the control device generates a paper-delivering instruction to the printed device.

  • Patent number: 6315093
Abstract: A hydraulic shock absorber (10) is composed of a piston (3) that partitions the inside of a cylinder (1) into an extension side chamber (R1) and a compression side chamber (R2), a throttler (3c) for connecting the extension side chamber (R1) and the compression side chamber (R2), a piston rod (2) that extends from the cylinder (1) interlocking with the piston (3), an accumulator (11) that allows entrance and exit of a volume of hydraulic operating fluid equivalent to the volume of a portion of the piston rod (2) entered within the cylinder (1), and a spring (8) that pushes the piston (3) against the piston rod (2).

  • Patent number: 6191869
Abstract: A facsimile machine which includes a telephone conversation function that can securely shift the facsimile communication mode to a telephone conversation mode after facsimile communication, even if an error occurs during facsimile communication. This is accomplished without using a telephone conversation reservation function. At a point where after facsimile communication is started, facsimile communication may be stopped after the transmission of predetermined signals between the calling party side facsimile machine and the receiving party side facsimile machine, or due to error. In the case where a communication error occurs because of paper jamming, the main controller keeps occupying the communication line occupied by the line controller, and a signal sound on the occupied communication line is externally emitted by the speaker.

  • Patent number: 5889838
Abstract: In a telephone set, a voiced and silent section detecting device detects whether the voice message stored in a storage device by an automatic answering function is a voiced section or a silent section, and the detected voiced or silent section information is stored in a storage device, corresponding to the voice message. Therefore, by pressing a skip operation button while reproducing a voice message, reproduction is started from the start position of the next voiced section.
