    Abstract: A clip for attaching a mounting component to a base component, and the clip comprises: a pin including a head portion for engaging the mounting component, and a shaft portion which is contiguous to the head portion, and a lock pins which extends downward from the head portion; and a grommet including a flange and a shank contiguous to the flange and partially defining an aperture operable to receive the pin in one of a temporary fitted position and a permanent fitted position; and wherein the temporary fitted position, the lock pin abuts a recessed portion in the grommet for maintaining the temporary fitted position, and wherein in the permanent fitted position, the lock pin collapses on the inside, and is contained on the inside of the shank portion of the grommet.

The attachment part of the control cable has an engaging part that is engaged by the anchoring groove and is wider than the constricted part, an approximately parallel pair of opposing surfaces respectively opposing the front and rear of a plate surface of the anchor plate part, and an anchoring groove, the surface of which is formed by the pair of opposing surfaces, and in which the peripheral parts of the plate-part-side attachment grove of the anchor plate part engage. The one opposing surface is provided with a protruding part that protrudes toward the other opposing surface.

    Abstract: A mounting structure for an automotive exterior member includes a mounting portion projecting from a rear side of a lower garnish so that a clip engaged by an outer panel of a tailgate is retained by the mounting portion. The mounting portion includes a base end portion on the side of the main body of the lower garnish and a projecting end portion on the side of the outer panel connected to the base end portion via a connecting portion which ruptures at the time of a crash at the lower garnish. The base end portion and the projecting portion are displaced along the projecting direction at the time of a crash. Therefore, a non-serious crash does not cause the base end portion to abut the outer panel or the projecting end portion to abut the main body of the lower garnish, and damage is limited to the deformation of the exterior member.

    Abstract: An exterior member includes a mounting portion projecting from a rear side of a lower garnish so that a clip engaged by an outer panel of a tailgate is retained by the mounting portion. A door hinge is positioned based on the position of the positioning bolt so mounted. In the door hinge mounting structure, the positioning bolt passable hole is formed larger in diameter than the threaded hole in the retaining member. Restrictive wall portions are provided in the interior of the door panel or the door mounting portion for restricting the movement of the retaining member within a range in which the positioning bolt passable hole and the threaded hole in the retaining member substantially coincide in position with each other.
