Patent number: 6418295Abstract: A color image forming apparatus capable of efficiently sensing a color deviation and accurately correcting for it is disclosed. The apparatus includes mark sensing device for sensing register marks on a conveyor belt for determining deviations between colors, a first storage device for storing data representative of the results of past color deviation sensing operations, a recognizing device which recognizes a condition inside the apparatus (e.g. temperature), and a second storage device which stores deviations sensed by the mark sensing device and the apparatus condition in which the deviation occurred. The apparatus will correct for a color deviation on the basis of the stored data in the first storage device. In addition, the timing for executing a sensing operation is determined on the basis of the data stored in the second storage device. Thus the apparatus can execute efficient correction with a minimum frequency of correction in accordance with the variation of the above stored data.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2000Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: Ricoh Company, Ltd.Inventor: Toshiya Sato

Patent number: 5867427Abstract: An electrically writable nonvolatile semiconductor memory device capable of writing data to any desired threshold value accurately without resorting to a write confirming operation is disclosed. The memory device senses a current flowing through a memory cell transistor while effecting a writing operation. When the current reaches a preselected value, the memory device stops the writing operation. A relation between a desired threshold voltage and the current to flow through the memory cell transistor during wiring is determined beforehand. This eliminates the need for the confirmation of the threshold voltage relying on a reading operation, and allows a desired threshold voltage to be set rapidly and accurately.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1997Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiya Sato

Patent number: 5757202Abstract: In a semiconductor device having "N" input terminals, a high voltage for a mode switching is applied to a first input terminal, and mode setting information is supplied to the other input terminals. A latch circuit holds the mode setting information supplied during a predetermined period of time starting from application of the high voltage to the first input terminal, during a period of time in which the high voltage continues to be supplied to the first input terminal. Thus, a test is performed on the basis of the mode switching instruction held in the latch circuit and data applied to the other input terminals. On the other hand, if the high voltage is disconnected, the latch circuit is reset.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1996Date of Patent: May 26, 1998Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Toshiya Sato

Patent number: 5626852Abstract: Described is a fragrancing composition having fragrancing components that are not activated until, e.g., application to the skin of a human. The composition is alkaline or (if anhydrous) capable of producing an alkaline pH when in contact with water, prior to application, and includes (1) a vehicle such that when the composition is in contact with water, prior to application, the composition is at an alkaline pH; and (2) at least one potential fragrance that is at least one compound having little or no odor in the alkaline composition but which, e.g., is hydrolyzed in a lower pH environment to produce compounds having a relatively strong aroma. Upon application of the alkaline composition to the skin surface, the strong buffering capacity of the skin (the surface of which has a normal pH of 5.5-7.0) neutralizes alkalinity of the composition (lowers pH) so as to restore normal skin surface pH; the potential fragrance is then hydrolyzed at the lower pH to release the compound having relatively strong aroma.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1994Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Assignees: The Mennen Company, Takasago International CorporationInventors: Robert Suffis, Morton L. Patent number: 5600420Abstract: An intermediate transfer unit is constructed by covering a conductive cylindrical base member of drum-shape with an elastic member of belt-shape, the elastic member of belt-shape being adhesively fixed to the base member with an adhesive agent, grooves or pits being provided on the surface of the cylindrical base member, the elastic member of belt-shape being adhesively fixed by the adhesive agent filled in the grooves or pits. The adhesive agent has a resistivity smaller than at least the resistivity of the elastic member of belt-shape. By doing so, it is possible to construct and keep the uniform distribution of resistivity without change by environment and deterioration with age, and to realize proper transferring. Furthermore, since the diametrical change of the drum due to uneven application of the adhesive agent can be minimized, the effect on misalignment in color can be minimized.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1994Date of Patent: February 4, 1997Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masahiko Saito, Masashi Yamamoto, Tetsuro Akasaki, Koichi Niwa, Jin Sawahata, Masahiro Nakano, Motoyuki Suzuki, Toshiya Sato
