  • Publication number: 20040135516
Abstract: It is capable of independently modulating the scanning velocities of multiple electron beams having a beam interval. Allowing a current to pass through the velocity modulation coils results in modulation of the scanning velocities of the multiple electron beams (19A, 19B) emitted from electron guns contained in a neck portion of a cathode ray tube to sharpen the outline of picture. The velocity modulation coils have a coil configuration including three upper coils (27A, 27B, and 27C) and lower three coils (28A, 28B, and 28C) for respectively generating asymmetrical quadri-pole magnetic fields. The magnetic fields independently generated by these two types of the velocity modulation coils allows the scanning velocities of the multiple electron beams (19A, 19B) to be almost independently modulated.

  • Patent number: 6455996
Abstract: In a convergence correction device according to the present invention and a cathode-ray tube using such convergence correction device, a core having wound thereat a vertical correction coil (M/Dv) to which a vertical deflection current is applied is used while such core is being saturated. Also, such core might be made of a material having a characteristic in which a changed amount of a reactance per deflection velocity becomes less than a predetermined value. The above-mentioned predetermined value is less than 2000 &mgr;H/msec, for example. Thus, a convergence pattern, which is difficult to correct at the intermediate portions of upper and lower separated screens of a cathode-ray tube according to the related art, may be satisfactorily corrected without producing bright and dark stripes on the screen of the cathode-ray tube.

  • Patent number: 6252359
Abstract: The present invention is intended to provide a deflection apparatus which is able to effect an excellent convergence correction by improving an interference between a coma aberration correction coil and a convergence correction coil. In the deflection apparatus according to the present invention, a circuit comprising a coma aberration correction coil, resistors and a reactance means is connected to a vertical deflection coil in series. In the above-mentioned circuit, coil pair comprising the coma aberration correction coil are connected in series. One end of the reactance means is connected to a junction, i.e. middle point of the coil pair. One ends of the respective resistors are connected across the respective ends of the coil pair connected in series. Remaining one ends of those resistors are connected to a remaining one end of the reactance means.

  • Patent number: 5818317
Abstract: A deflection yoke having upper and lower magnets located at upper and lower positions of the funnel side of a cathode-ray-tube, for correcting upper and lower pin-cushion distortions. The upper and lower magnets are movably held so as to make magnetic fields formed by the magnets variable horizontally or vertically and asymmetrically. Accordingly, asymmetrical image distortion both in a vertical direction and a horizontal direction can be easily corrected.
