    Abstract: A case 1 for containing a disk type recording medium 2 provided with a center bore 5, a clamped part 3 and a recording part 4 comprises a cartridge 6 and a protective case 7 which is detachably mounted on the cartridge. The cartridge 6 consists of a lid body 11 including a center opening 27 and a first annular projection 28 formed around the center opening 27, and a cartridge body 12 including a center opening 16 and an opening 17. The clamped part 3 of the disk type recording medium 2 is adapted to be exposed through the center openings 16 and 27. The protective case 7 includes a plate part 29, a second annular projection 33 and an engaging portion 34. The second annular projection 33 enters into the center opening 16. The disk type recording medium 2 is positioned between the annular projections 28 and 33 with the engaging portion 34 engaged with the center bore 5.

  • Control system for selectively displaying items recorded on a recording medium

    Abstract: An information reproducing system for selecting a reproduction item and reproducing an information unit corresponding to the selected reproduction item is provided. The system includes a recording medium, a displaying apparatus, a selecting apparatus, and a reproducing apparatus. The reproduction items are displayed in a menu on the displaying apparatus. The selecting apparatus outputs instruction signals for selecting one of the reproduction items displayed in the menu. The reproducing apparatus reads out the information unit corresponding to the selected reproduction item from the recording medium and reproduces it. The selecting apparatus and the reproducing apparatus are disposed in separate casings and are connected to each other with a wire. The selecting apparatus has a small number of switches. The reproducing apparatus has a controller having several universal terminals. Each switch of the selecting apparatus is connected with a respective universal terminal through a single line.
